Amirah Murasaki: ::A young Betazoid female in her 20s slowly walks into the sickbay carrying her empty hypo while she gasps for air from her Claustrophobic attack::
Dr McCoy EMH: ::Comes out of the office seeing the female crewman in distress. He holds on to her, while two assistants come up to help then takes the hypospray to see what it is.::
Amirah Murasaki: ::She closes her eyes feeling dizzy from not getting enough air while she lays down on a biobed::
Dr McCoy EMH: ::Looks at the asst.:: 10cc's trioxin, now! ::begins to bring the bioscanners to life.:: Wanna talk about it, or do I have to find out for myself? ::He smiled to the young officer.::
Amirah Murasaki: I've...been...fight....ing...this....all..my life.. ::She continues to gasp for air::
Dr McCoy EMH: Pnic attacks? Anxiety? claustrophobia? could be any of those from what I see. Heart rate is elevated right now, ::Gives her the hypospray.:: That should do it. You should have come to me as soon as you got on board. How could you let yourself run out of this stuff?
Amirah Murasaki: ::She breathes easier after she is given the hypo:: I suffered from Claustrophobia all my life. Even have known to pass out without anyone knowing. Something I'm used to.
Dr McCoy EMH: ::Looks at her skeptically:: You have claustrophobia and you;re on a star ship. Well, be thankful to live in an age where ships are like hotels with warp drive. You'd have a very hard time back in the old days on ships like my old one. Hell, back then, and Admiral's quarters is what an ensign gets on ships like this.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She laughs a bit hearing that:: Yeah.
Dr McCoy EMH: Now I want to keep an eye on this. I want you in here once a week for a quick check up. Alright? ::He looked both ways quickly:: Bye the way. You seen any Vulcans on this ship? I haven;t so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She giggles a bit:: I saw a woman with feathers nice pointy ones.
Dr McCoy EMH: Doesn't sound like a Vulcan.
Amirah Murasaki: I have a furry long eared thing too. I named him Spock.
Dr McCoy EMH: Spock? ::he raised his brows:: Of all the names.... Did you plan this with him? even though I'm a hologram he had to find some way to get at me.
Amirah Murasaki: He loves his carrots.
Dr McCoy EMH: Putting his brain back wasn;t enough. I even carried his marbles around for him so some Vulcan priestess could put his mind back in his body.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She laughs hearing him, sits up in the bed while looking at the hypo::
Dr McCoy EMH: That's two he owes me. and do I even get a thank you?
Amirah Murasaki: ::She laughs even harder:: My rabbit can't even do that.
Dr McCoy EMH: You have a rabbit too? Amirah Murasaki: That's who Spock is. A rabbit? Why didn't you tell me? bring the little guy by sometime.
Amirah Murasaki: I got a dog too. A German Shepherd named Gunther.
Dr McCoy EMH: Well, we have plenty of those on board. The Captain just got a Puppy, Amir Khambatti brought one on fron Starbase 24. They like to take them to the arboretum. It's very relaxing there. Might be a good idea to check that place out.
Amirah Murasaki: I should've thought about going there. ::She starts sounding tired something the attacks always do to her::
Dr McCoy EMH: I want you to pay close attention to your diet, and I want you to see the counselor. Something's at the heart of this claustrophobia.
Amirah Murasaki: I was born with it.
Dr McCoy EMH: Maybe between a Betazoid and a half Kriosan, Half Elaasian metamorphic empath you can come up with something. OK, you're stable now. i want you to go back to quarters and get some rest. IF you have any other symptoms, call immediately.
Amirah Murasaki: Thank you for your help I appreciate it. ::She takes her newly filled hypo::
Dr McCoy EMH: Anytime, Lt. That's what I'm here for. and I don't sleep. At least I don't think I do.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She stares at it as she gets off the bed:: Sure you do in a way. Every time you are deactivated.
Dr McCoy EMH: That could be. I'm online a good bit, though. and I can deactivate myself or activate at will. I hate talking about myself as if I'm a machine.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She tucks the hypo into a pocket behind her so that the hypo is well hidden by her hair that goes to her knees She slowly walks out of sickbay like nothing even happened to her doing everything to hide her problem::
Dr McCoy EMH: ::As everyone left the room, McCoy began doing a report, as a hail came in form an asst.:: Just a minute: he shouted over the comm.:: I swear if I have to jump every time I hear a bell or a whistle around here I'm gonna end up talking to myself...
Amirah Murasaki: ::She stops in her tracks going back to sickbay::
Dr McCoy EMH: Forget something. Lt?
Amirah Murasaki: No Sorry doctor. ::She walks back out of the sickbay shaking her head as she goes back to her quarters::

Dr. McCoy filled him in on the people who were in sickbay. Among st them a member of the crew that he hadn't had any previous exposure to. She was suffering from a telepathic overload so to speak. The suppressor was doing it's job in filtering out the voices so they were more manageable, or so the bio-monitors were telling him. He looked down at the women on the biobed and saw her eyes open and then saw her moving her head around. That is when he decided to step in and to talk to her.
How are you feeling Ens. ? Try not to move around too quickly or too much. You've had a rather traumatic experience.

You had a telepathic overload and you are in sickbay. I am Doctor Regal Conner. One of the few civilians on board this ship. How is your head?
His voice was gentle when he spoke and his manner was one of caring. He smiled softly at her and periodically checked the bio-readings to make sure what he was seeing physically was what was happening inside as well as on the outside.

He gently helped her up.
Don't move too fast you might still be feeling a little light headed. The Nero block is designed to temporally filter out the voices you are hearing so you can manage them. Got to give your mind time to adjust. I know you want to get back to duty but you're not going to do anyone any good being weak on your feet.
He was close by the whole entire time just encase she needed him. He was once an officer and knew full well the drive to get to work, but now that he had been out of the service for a while his mind was only concerned for the person not the job.

You would be surprised what I understand. They are clearly not weak telepaths for if they were would have been blocked out by now, but I need to know how you are feeling besides their thoughts being with you before I even consider calling Lt. Commander Rivers and Captain Dantara down here. You're safety and medical well being is my main concern.
He was all the while keeping an eye on the medical readouts as well as making eye contact with her has he spoke to her. Even though he is terrain he knows full well that telepathic species can handle things nontelepaths can't but he wanted to hear it from her lips. That was his best measure sometimes would be responses. He was pleased that she decided to lay back down and not to try and fight what her body was signaling for her to do.

He was concerned because the whole situation happened rather quickly and without warning. He was looking for signs of a possible after shock that sometimes comes with such traumatic events.

That fear could be anyone of us who have people to look after and are facing a threat. As for what you have gotten from them if you are not feeling light headed you are free to go. That is if you can manage the voices you hear without passing out again.

Murasaki: ::Sneaks up on the dr while he has his back turned:: BOO!
Dr McCoy EMH: You can't scare a hologram!
Amirah Murasaki: Can too!
Amirah Murasaki: Or maybe all that Vulcan stuff has gone to your head.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She kisses him on the cheek glad that he's on the ship::
Dr McCoy EMH: Awww, thank you young lady. Lucky for you, I'm a hologram. I was quite the ladies man back when I was alive. And young.
Amirah Murasaki: Still are Dr.
Dr McCoy EMH: Me? The are plenty of nice young men on the ship, Why in God's name would you want a hologram?
Amirah Murasaki: Like who?
Dr McCoy EMH: I'm a Dr, not a dating service. I'm sure nature will take it's course. Starfleet officers don't act much different now than they did a hundred years ago. They just have more toys.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She sits down in a chair looking tired::
Dr McCoy EMH: what's wrong? Fatigued again?
Amirah Murasaki: I've been roaming the halls over 24 hours.
Amirah Murasaki: Had a bad nevermind.. ::She doesn't really want to get into it since she doesn't talk much about her problems::
Dr McCoy EMH: Well, that isn't good.
Amirah Murasaki: It doesn't matter.
Dr McCoy EMH: If you;re going to work on the bridge, you need to be well rested. I don't want to have to report this to the Captain, so let me give you a mild sedative to let you sleep a bit.
Amirah Murasaki: You can't give me one now. I have duty in a few hours!
Dr McCoy EMH: Ok, tell you want, then. Hop up on the bio bed and let me put you on the REM inducer for one hour. You'll feel like you had eight hours of sleep. It'll help you make a better impression on the Captain.
Amirah Murasaki: A better impression? I think I make a pretty good one already.
Amirah Murasaki: I could kick Sulu's butt!
Dr McCoy EMH: You'll concentrate better on the job. And young lady, I may be a hologram, but I am still a Dr. When I give a medical order I expect it to be followed. Even the Captain is subject to my medical opinion. Now stop arguing and let me put these inducers on your forehead.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She looks a bit frightened, as she stands up not liking the idea of this being done::
Amirah Murasaki: ::She walks over to the biobed nervously:: This going to hurt?
Amirah Murasaki: ::She lays down slowly knowing that everything doctors do they always say no::
Amirah Murasaki: ::She looks a bit puzzled with a look on her face like she's trying to piece something together::
Dr McCoy EMH: Of course it's ot going to hurt! What is this, the middle ages? I'm just going to put these emitters on your forehead. That's it. All you have to do is relax.
Amirah Murasaki: Middle ages? ::She closes her eyes tight definitely scared for some reason::
Dr McCoy EMH: Now just relax, Amirah. One hour,. that's it. after that, I'll give you a cortical analeptic to help invigorate the tissues of your cerebral cortex. It'll help with the fatigue.. ::Turns the bio scanner on, and turns off the sounds of the machine, replacing it with the sound of the ocean.::
Amirah Murasaki: ::She grabs his hand tight::
Amirah Murasaki: ::She starts going to sleep not letting him go::
Amirah Murasaki: ::She goes into a deeper sleep not too long after::
Dr McCoy EMH: ::walks away to leave her to relax.:: I got the last word again.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She stays asleep turning on her side::
Amirah Murasaki: ::She turns again revealing a little bruise that she in her quarters very very tiny nothing to even raise concern about::
Dr McCoy EMH: ::He takes a dermal regenerator and quietly repairs the bruise without her even knowing it.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She continues to sleep not waking up once as he fixes the bruise she got after she had collapsed in her quarters::
Amirah Murasaki: ::She wakes up 1hr later slowly opening her eyes::
Dr McCoy EMH: ::Sees that she is coming to, and walks over preparing the hypospray.:: Well, good morning!. Feeling better?
Amirah Murasaki: :;She looks up at him as he prepares a hypo:: I feel much better.
Dr McCoy EMH: Good. Like I said, this will help clear your head up a little. When you get to the bridge, you'll be fresh as a daisy. ::Gives her the Hypo.:: There you go, good as new. Now why don;t you go get some breakfast before duty. I can think of at least one stubborn Starship Captain that wouldn't let
Dr McCoy EMH: an officer work the bridge on an empty stomach. Too distracting
Amirah Murasaki: ::She giggles a bit something was on her mind still afraid to bring it up::
Dr McCoy EMH: ::He can tell that something's on her mind, which is curious in itself since holograms didn't have instincts. Yet he still had the same ones he'd had and remembered all the tricks of the trade he had been taught.:: IF you need to talk, I'm all ears, but I really advise you to see the counselor.
Dr McCoy EMH: and since you have to anyway, might be a good place to start.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She expects he'll yell at her:: A day after you gave me the new hypo I woke up on the floor.
Dr McCoy EMH: You did what? why didn't you call me?
Amirah Murasaki: Last thing I remember was staring out the window and waking up on the floor.
Dr McCoy EMH: There was no physical reason for that to happen. Not according to your records. I'm going to schedule you for further tests and have Dr Conner look at you to give his opinion. You can;t go fainting on the bridge!
Amirah Murasaki: That won't happen.
Dr McCoy EMH: Now this puts me in an awkward position.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She waits to see what he means about an awkward position:: Don't you remove me from my post please. I love that post more than anything!
Dr McCoy EMH: Of course not. But I have to put this in my report for the Captain. It's my job. Otherwise, I'll send the report to the CNS, let her talk to you and let her call the shot. You're better off that way. And since she is a Sr member of the medical staff, she has to know about this as well.
Amirah Murasaki: ::She sighs a bit not liking this news:: Understood.
Dr McCoy EMH: ::Nods:: I'm a Dr, Amirah, Not the Gestapo. It's my job to keep the crew healthy. And not just because it's my job. Because I care. Because this is what I've done for over a century. In one form or another. I may be a hologram, but I have feelings. My feelings. Not programmed extrapolations and parameters!
Amirah Murasaki: ::She walks back into the sickbay wondering if he still has any questions about her being able to handle her duties::

Conner was in the office when a young women came in. By the time he went to go see what she wanted she was walking out again. He knew that by the way she carried herself that she wasn't in a good mood. He only hoped she would go see the Consoler to talk about whatever was bothering her. He recognized her as the young women who passed out in the bar the other night and made a mental note to try and find her. He wanted to talk to her one on one about something he found in her medical file but didn't want to do it at a time she wasn't emotionally the greatest. He knew all too well how talking could put someone over the edge when they weren't feeling well emotionally.

She started to leave she felt that McCoy was breathing down her neck about staying here. She slowly walks back into the sickbay towards a biobed. She sits down slowly. She really didn't want to discuss her condition to anyone not even a doctor. She wonders what the others on the ship would think of her if this got out. She sighs a bit. She knows she can handle her job she's proved that already. Bridge was the easiest place for her. She was happy on the bridge. She does her best to hold her tears back not knowing what will happen.

When the women turned around and then hesitantly made her way to the bio-bed without a word to him. He knew that she was ordered here for some purpose. He hadn't had a chance to go over all of EMH McCoy's reports but he knew that he issued only one order to a Lt. Amirah to report in to him. He didn't know exactly why he did such a thing but thought it to be for good reason.
As he watched her move he then went to his office and grabbed his white lab coat to throw over his simple cloths. He didn't have a uniform only the jacket of his field. He held in his hand a medical triquater as he approached the biobed that she chose to sit on. The bed was already active and he approached her so not to scare her.
I would hate to pry but are you Lt. J.G. Amirah? If you are I know why you're here but limited. If not I would like to know what I could do for you. What brought you in here. Rest assured I won't share anything I learn with anyone else. Unless you are a danger to yourself or to the ship. Which I can't imagine you being that way. Since your life signs seam to be healthy.
He smiled softly and then waited for her to respond in whatever way she felt appropriate. He was trying hard not to scare her or make her feel worse then what she was looking. Her eyes to him told the story of her state inside.

She looks at him not saying a word. She nods a bit. She lays down on the biobed only after making sure the walls weren't going to attack her. She was surprised McCoy didn't bring anything up wtih the doctor because he said he was going to. After a few minutes she quietly speaks. I was watching the stars and woke up on the floor a couple of nights ago. She was afraid to say this too loudly. She was afraid to mention she had a bad Claustrophobic attack in her room and that she fainted from it. Her medical record from pervious ships would show that she has a history of this, but normally off duty and it would show it never effected her work.
