::It had been a long duty shift, and even a Captain needed his rest. Brock felt it was time for a little solitude.
He needed to keep his mental and spritual enrgy up. He didn't dare let the crew see his own personal pain. That was for him, and him only to bear.
It was difficult for him to admit to himself that he was still heartsick over the loss of Shian. That war had taken its toll on everyone and he was no different. He deserved the luxury of his pwn pain and his own loss as well.
He would not allow it to stop him. he knew Shian would have wanted to see his career flourish as it has. His own ship.
Though it was wonderful to have his own ship and crew and he couldn't have chosen a finer of either, Still he longed for the days wehen he was just the chief engineer.
Seeing Captain Danrea after all this time was comforting, but yet brought back a lot of the old memories. His wife was the Helmsman. The first person to take a Starship throught the wormhole at warp speed. By all right s they shouldn't have survived that mission, but they did.

Come, ::Brock said as the door chime went off. He had no one scheduled and was wondering who could be paying him a visit.::

::The door slid open and the EMH walked in, carrying something with him.::
Hello, Captain. Just happened to be out for a walk, Thought I'd drop by. Hope you don't mind.
::He came in to the room proper.:: Don't jump up on my account. I'll just grab me a seat right here.
::He began to open the case::

Of course not, Dr. I don't mind at all. ::He saw McCoy taking something out of a case::
I didn't realize you made house calls, Dr. Is anything the matter?

I don't know. :: McCoy answered.:: Is there anything wrong? I was hoping you'd tell me.
::He sat and pulled out a bottle and began to pour a drink for Brock::
You know, usually, when people are digging up old bones, that's when I show up.
Now I've been on Starships for over 30 years during my career. I know when a Captain has something on his mind. So don't tell me "everything's fine."
I didn't come here to shove medical advice down your throat. Just to talk. Now here, have a drink.

::Brock took the glass, held it under his nose, smiled::
Saurian Brandy? ::He took a drink:: Mmmm. You know, that just might have "hit the spot"
So, ::He sat back in his chair:: Is this your strategy, getting the Captain drunk so he'll open up a little? If that's the case, you're going to need that bottle, and then some. Remember, I'm a Troglyte. ::Takes another drink of the brandy::

Oh, I haven't forgotten you're a Troglyte, believe me. All those decades of whiffing raw Zenite, I doubt any alchohol could do much to you people.
No, I brought the Brandy more out of tradition than anything else. Back in the "old days" Just before I became chief Medical officer of the Enterprise, Pauld Boyce was their Dr. After the first five year mission, he decided to retire.
Paul was a good man. Lot of Horse sense. He once told me: "Leonard, sometimes a man will tell his bartender things he'd never tell his Dr."
Now I thing it's wonderful that ships have counselors now, but it's the job of a good ship's Doctor to help his Captain stay centered. I did it for Jim for a lot of years. he was like a Son to me. Now I feel that I have to do it for you. Not because it's my "duty", but because I'm your Doctor, and I'm your friend.
Now, ::He continued:: Would you like to tell me about Shian?

::Brock sat back, hearing the name he had tried so hard to supress. He had wanted everything out of his mind so he could concentrate only on his ship.::
Do I want to tell you about Shian? Yes. And no. I know what you're going to say. I'm burying it.
What would you have me say, Dr?. It was a war. I lost more than many, but far less than many others.
I think what gets me the most is those d**ned Impostors. We have a theory, but we still don;t really know about them. No culture, not a clue still on who or what they were. And what was it all for? If they were in this desperate situation, why couldn't they just ask us for help?
Could it be that these people have no identity of their own and can only survive by "replacing" others? I should have recognized it and been more alert.
Alright, Dr. They took her literally right out from under my nose! I was sleeping with one of those things!
Now how the hell do you think I feel?

Post by Dr Leonard McCoy EMH on May 26, 2008 22:14:24 GMT -5
Well, Not very good, I suppose. Nobody likes to feel like they've been fooled. I hate to tell you this but many Starhip Captains, some much better know than you, have been fooled at times.
I know you must feel terrible about it. Who wouldn't? But you have no Medical issues resulting from it, you're perfectly healthy.
Brock those things fooled smarter men and women than you. Did you honestly think you were going to get into this business and never make a mistake? Never have an error in judgement?
I've looked over your record. The incident on the Stargazer with your friend Barry Martak. The incident on the Concord with that half Vulcan, Half Klingon woman. Good God, man what were you thinking?
::He laughed:: I know I shouldn't be judgemental, but half Vulcan half Human is bad enough, but half Klingon? I've been doing the medicine game for a long time, and that is one rare hybrid. I can't even picture a union like that!
Brock, I understand that a good Starfleet Officer always takes responsibility for his or her own action. I know you try to live by that. But Brock, you can't hold yourself responsible for everything that happens.
Was it your fault that thos Orions boarded your ship? No! You did what you had to do. And I know losing your best friend hurt. But it wasn't your fault!
How do you think I felt when we lost Jim on the Enterprise-B? We were just supposed to go for a little joyride around SOL. that's it. ANd look what happened. And that wasn;t Jim's Enterprise. he didn't have to do what he did, BU that was part of what he was. He could have minded his own business but he didn't. Because people needed help.
Do you know how angry I was at him for edoing that? for dying like that? We had just retired, Almost having an offer to settle down on Rura Penthe, and then boom! He was gone. Just like that. But he saved 150 lives that day.
You wanna take a walk? Let's go down to the Arboretum. I know you love that place. Let's get a little air.

::Brock had the two of them beamed to quarters paractiaclly right from the base. Now was not the time for "The Grand Tour". There would be plenty of time for that.
This was probably the first new surroundings she'd had in some time, so he wanted het be slowly acclimated and not overwhelmed.
He began to speak as she started to look about the quarters::
I didn't have much time to prepare for this. I had a feeling you probably would't have much of anything with you in the way of personal belongings. I replicated a few things that are just like like some of the clothes you had.
If there's anything you need or want, just let me know.
::He was afraid of being to "Babying" But he wasn't sure exactly the extent of what had happened to her. Asking her to talk about it now, might not be the best idea. he just wanted her to relax and feel safe. And he wanted to be with his wife.
All he could really do at this point was support her and just show her that he loves her.::

::Shian looked about when they materialized. The quarters looked rather sparse. Not completely unlike her living area on the base. It certainly didn't have very many "homey" touches to it.::
::She turned around to face her husband after she looked around the main room of the quarters. She watched his face as he spoke to her. It seemed to be a new favorite pasttime of hers. But it was like trying to reconnect for her. The face she'd seen so many times. A face she had to try and learn to not be afraid of seeing. Not because she didn't love him, but because she didn't trust herself. It was a huge part of what she'd been working on with the psychiatrist on the Starbase.::
::She sat down in a chair, still gazing at him. She was just as afraid to touch him as she was anxious to hold him near.::
Thank you. I guess I didn't think about not having anything to come back to.
::She smiled tentatively.::
Right now, all I need is time.
::She reached her hand out to him and grasped his hand in hers.::
And you.
::She looked at the floor for a second before looking up at him again.::
I need you to be patient with me. I need you to support me. I need you to love me.
::She felt the tears welling up in the corners of her eyes again, as she looked into his.::

::Brock Took her hand in his and kneeled in front of the chair. He saw the tears form in her eyes and began forming his own. He wanted so badly to just make the pain go away for her, but he know that would take time.
He was once told that true love was one of the strongest medicines in the universe. Maybe love would heal this in time. maybe love was stronger than what those faceless bastards did.::
Shian, ::He began:: You have all the time you need. As for patience, I know I can be a hot headed Troglyte at times, but with you, my patience is without limit, as is the love I feel for you.
You have my support. You have every iota of support that I have.
::He touched her face, brushing a tear away::
I love you, and I am yours. ::He kissed her hand gently::
Do you remember the night I proposed to you in the arboretum of the Concord? I remember when I said "When the Guardian of Forever crumbles to dust, I will Love you." That has not changed. That will never change.
::He looked up at her, with his own tears streaking down his cheek.::

Post by shian on Jun 5, 2008 9:24:08 GMT -5
::The tears flowed freely now, and she wiped them away with one hand. This readjustment time was going to be difficult for her.::
Yes, I remember. The arboretum on Concord was one of my "safe places" with Dr. Parvi. And, Brock, I love you, too. Right now, it's just.... I need time to adjust. So thank you for loving me enough to give me that.
::It had only been a little over a month that she'd had to learn Brock was the only family she had to go back to. After recovering from the psychological alterations they'd done, she held brief hope that she'd see her whole family again. Only a few flashes of her actual past caused her to hope to waiver.::
::Then, Dr. Parvi began working with her on the deaths of her brother, her mother, and, finally, her father, who had passed due to natural causes shortly before she was found by the Federation ship.::
::And she'd had to try and explain, several sessions later, about her bond with Jax. That was one thing that Dr. Parvi had been adamant about warning her. It was plausible to see Jax in her dreams, still. But if she ever saw him while she was in a waking state, to be wary.::
::She breathed deeply, tried to stop the weeping, and gave Brock a little smile.::
So, who's this doctor onboard that will be taking my case?
::She was more than a little apprehensive about just how much this doctor would share with the captain of the ship before she, herself, was ready to tell him. But, she needed to know if she could feel comfortable with this doctor.::

Of course you need time. Take all the time you need. I just want you to relax and make yourself well.
If you want to relax here for a couple days and just sleep and get used the environmrnt, I understand. But there are a lot of things to do on the ship. Sure, we have the holodecks and rec facilities and all that,
But we also grow our own food here on the ship, along with the hydroponics bays. We grow fish, Lobsters, Terran shrimp, Bajoran Shrimp, all kind of fruits and vegetables. Even Gogh.
I sometimes like working down there. I find it very relaxing and beditattive. Just a thought. When you're ready there is much I want to show you.
As far as the Dr. Would you like to meet him straight away? And there may be some..explaining to do. He'll come right up if you like. He wants to meet you.

::Shian nodded.::
Sounds like you have a great ship. I know you've worked hard for it. I'm sorry I wasn't here to support you all this time.
::Her face fell slightly. When she first read his file overview, she felt such pride. She was proud of what he'd accomplished, what he'd done... without her.::
::She wished that she'd been able to be with him, to weather each storm, small or great, with him. But she wasn't. And it was time she could not get back.::
I'd like to see the rest of the ship. But maybe we should give it a day or two? I don't think I want to be too overwhelmed all at once.
::She paused, reflecting for a moment.::
And maybe Mellisari can visit me and we can have lunch one day? I mean, when you're busy, I would rather...
::'Just take a deep breath and say it,' she told herself.::
I really don't want to be alone too much. And, well, I only really know you and Mel. But I know that you can't be with me all the time. And, I don't expect you to be.
::She wanted to make sure that he understood this. She knew his responsibilities to this ship and his crew. And she would have to learn to deal with having to spend some time on her own. But, in the beginning stages of this reintegration, she really didn't want to have to face that just yet.::
::When she heard him talk about the doctor, she froze. Some explaining? Was she going to have to explain her case to the doctor while Brock was present? She was trying not to panic now.::
::She was still too afraid of what her husband would think of her once he learned what she went through. Yet, she did want to establish her relationship with the doctor as soon as possible. It was important to her now that without Dr. Parvi available she have the help she needed close at hand.::
::She steadied her voice as best she could.::
I would like to meet him, yes. But I don't want to leave the quarters just now. Will he come here? And why is he anxious to meet me?
::Shian knew, of course, that the time would soon come for Brock to hear everything that had happened to her while she was a captive. It just scared her.::

Brock Dantara: ::Brock was trying not to overwhelm his wife. He knew that she needed time and would have to acclimate herself to her new surroundings, but at the same time, He didn't want her to
Brock Dantara: "lose her nerve" as far as being able to go out and be around people. He knew this would take time, and he would slowly take her around and show her the various parts of the ship.::
Brock Dantara: I understand that you don't want to be alone, Sweetheart. I have my duties with the ship, but I'm sure Mellisari would be delighted to have lunch with you.
Brock Dantara: She's still working on her own issues from all her years in the slave pens. Maybe it would be good for you two to talk some.
Shian Taris: ::she smiled a bit:: I'd like that. I would.
Brock Dantara: Right now, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. We have nothing pressing as far as a mission right now, so I'll spend as much time as I can with you and work from here.
Brock Dantara: ::He tapped his commbadge:: Dr., would come to my Quarters. Please?
Shian Taris: ::nods:: I don't want to inconvenience you, though. Your captaincy is important, Brock. Brock Dantara: Yes it is. But so is my family. You could never be an inconvenience to me, Shian. I've been talking to the Dr about ....my feelings, and how I was coping with your loss, before I knew you were recovered.
Brock Dantara: ::The door buzzer goes off:: Come in, Doctor.
Shian Taris: ::she looked at him curiously:: You've been going to therapy sessions?
Shian Taris: ::she glanced over at the door:: Brock Dantara: Not formally. This Dr has a lot of experience with starship captains. I found a friend and confidant in him. Even us "Mighty Starship Captains" have to have someone to talk to
Brock Dantara: ::Smiles as the door opens:: Shian Taris: ::Captain... still so proud of him, yet a little disappointed that she didn't get to see his career fluorish:: Dr McCoy EMH: ::Enters the Room.:: Hello, Brock. ::Smiles at Shian.:: Hello, Mrs Dantara, I very pleased to meet you. Leonard McCoy. ::He extends a hand.::
Shian Taris: ::she stared at the doctor for a moment before finding her voice:: H-hello, Doctor McCoy. ::extends her hand to him in return:: It's an honor. Shian Taris: ::she thought about how she felt when she met Montgomery Scott. And, though realizing this must be some sort of a hologram, it was still a bit of a shock.::
Dr McCoy EMH: The honor is all mine, Ma'am. I realize I'm probably the last person you thought you were going to see, so maybe Brock and I can explain a little about me and why I'm not really an "EMH"
Shian Taris: ::she looked from the doctor to her husband and back:: alright
Brock Dantara: Yes, Shian, Dr McCoy, is ....well.....more than meets the eye. Let me see if I can explain it to you in easy terms.....::Took a breath::
Shian Taris: ::she sat, taking in what she was seeing, and preparing to listen to an explanation:: Brock Dantara: Well, As you know, Medical holograms are made of programmed algorhythms, extrapolations of personaitlies based on writings, lectures, classes, things like that.
Brock Dantara: they are "Given" a personality, and some later develop one of their own. This was not the case with Dr McCoy.
Dr McCoy EMH: There is a device that Section31 found very popular. It's called a "Multitronic engramatic enhancer" It's used to scan minds. The..er..original Leonard McCoy worked on the project before he died. Shian Taris: ::she kept looking at Dr. McCoy as they spoke::
Dr McCoy EMH: They recorded his mind, his thoughts, his innermost feelings, his personal secrets, even his dreams. McCoy tested this for years and his mind was scanned
Dr McCoy EMH: quite extensively. Then, this data, for lack of a better term, was downloaded into an advanced bioneural processor. which is, in essence, living brain tissue.
Brock Dantara: This resulted in the coalescing, if you will, of Dr McCoy's mind, inside this living tissue. This hologram, as he appears, is the essence of Dr McCoy. Not simply extrapolated information.
Shian Taris: ::she was astounded... and speechless::
Dr McCoy EMH: I know things that only McCoy would know. About my old Captain and Crew. The things we all went through together. Every bit of pain and joy that Leonard McCoy ever knew, I know.
Dr McCoy EMH: You could think of it almost, like a Vulcan "Katra" only done with technology, instead of Vulcan mumbo jumbo. Shian Taris: That's so impressive ::she near whispered:: Shian Taris: So, you're almost like... a clone? Dr McCoy EMH: ::Chuckles:: You could almost say that. But I don't think they've invented a label to tag me with just yet. I wasn't exactly expected to turn out this way.
Shian Taris: ::she looked back to Brock:: And how did you end up with him on your ship? Brock Dantara: Well I'm grateful you did, as is the crew. ::Looks at his Wife:: So how does it feel to be in the care of the most famous Dr in Stafleet History? Brock Dantara: That's another story in itself. I have a lot of things to tell you. but one step at a time.
Shian Taris: ::she nodded:: Alright. ::she looked over to the doctor:: Dr. McCoy, have you, um... have you reviewed my case?
Dr McCoy EMH: I have recently recieved all the data. I'm going over it as we speak. It's downloaded directly into my processor, which is not networked with the rest of the ship.
Dr McCoy EMH: I'll be running a full analysis and cross reference once I assimilate the knowledge. I hate that word, by the way. Now, Mrs. Dantara, We do have another CMO on the ship and a good
Dr McCoy EMH: staff. I'll be keeping a special eye on you. If you need me for anything, just call and and I'll scatter my photons and be there in hot second. ::Smiles::
Shian Taris: Well, I'd like to know how often you'd like to do therapy sessions. And, I'd like it to be you, for now, Dr. McCoy. I, uh... ::she stammered a bit:: I really don't trust anyone else right now.
Shian Taris: ::she was feeling rather bare without the protection of Dr. Parvi and Dr. An-Hyrieh. She wanted the security of that feeling again, and she'd need to incorporate Dr. McCoy into that security.::
Dr McCoy EMH: Whenever you feel you're ready, you just let me know. I can come right here, if you don't want to walk down to sickbay. You get to have me as your own personal "Grandpa" for as long as you need. Brock Dantara: Dr McCoy knows things that even the History books don't. I trust him implicitly. Shian Taris: I just need... ::she trailed off, looking at her husband for a second:: I need it to be on a level of doctor/patient confidentiality.
Shian Taris: ::she hated having to say that. But she wanted more time before she told Brock. She wanted more time to deal with it on her own first.::
Dr McCoy EMH: That goes without saying, Mrs Dantara. Anything you want to talk to about is between you, me and the bulkhead. period. I've been a Dr for well over a century now. I understand completely.
Shian Taris: That's good. I'm glad to hear that. ::her smile was a little sheepish, but there, nonetheless::
Dr McCoy EMH: If there's anything you'd like to talk about now, Shian, we can throw Brock out for a while. I'm sure he can find something to do on his ship. ::Smiles:: Shian Taris: ::she chuckled nervously:: once you've gone through my entire case file, I'd like to have an initial session. Dr McCoy EMH: That's fine. I should be ready for you by tomorrow after breakfast. Anytime after 0900. Buzz me when you're ready and I'll come up. Shian Taris: ::she nodded:: That should be good. Thank you, Dr. McCoy. ::she reached out for Brock's hand::
Shian Taris: I'd like to spend some time alone with my husband right now, I think. ::she paused:: No, I need to spend some time with him.
Brock Dantara: ::Takes her hand:: Thank you very much Dr McCoy. It's a privilege to have your help.
Dr McCoy EMH: ::Smiles:: You kids just relax and take it slow, now. I'm never far if you need me. Hell, I can't even leave the ship. ::Excuses himself and leaves the room::
Shian Taris: ::she watches the doctor leave, smiling genuinely::
Shian Taris: ::she turns to her husband, peering at him, once again studying his face, his features::
Brock Dantara: ::Smiles as the door closes:: I'm glad that went well. Sweetheart, are you hungry? I tried to have some...what many call "comfort" food for you. Brock Dantara: Some fresh made Hasperat? or I could roll you some Sushi, just like the old days on Concord. Shian Taris: ::it was as if she knew him, but yet, she didn't. He'd changed. And she felt she needed to get to know him all over again, now.:: Yeah, I could go for some food. How about whatever you decide to make. I'll make it your choice.
Shian Taris: ::He'd changed, but, so had she. She supposed that he might be feeling the same way, at this point. She kept watching his eyes. She'd always loved his eyes. That, at least, hadn't changed.:: Brock Dantara: ::Smiles. Hits his commbadge:: Send it up. Thank you, Mamasan. ::A transporter glitter left a food cart in the room. There was an assortment of differrent foods... Brock Dantara: Sushi, Hesperat, Some Bajoran Spring wine, Bajoran shrimp, and even a couple small hibachi steaks still steaming over the small heat generator.::
Shian Taris: ::she raised a brow slightly, as she looked over the various foods:: You really wanted to make sure there was something I'd want to eat.
Shian Taris: ::she smiled to him:: Thank you. It looks wonderful.
Brock Dantara: Of course I want you to eat. And I dare say the cuisine on Polaris is a lot better than what you were getting. And besides, I want to spoil you a little. ::Grins:: I'm afraid I'm going to take care of you... Brock Dantara: and do whatever it takes to get you well again. But all in good time. Right now, I'm getting a little hungry myself.
Shian Taris: ::she smiled and picked up a piece of sushi:: Well, then let's eat. ::she ate the piece she took:: So, tell me.... how do you like being a captain, now? Shian Taris: ::she figured that she might as well start trying to learn about him all over again. She'd missed so much in his life.::
Brock Dantara: Well, I'd have to say it's pretty rewarding. I tried to bring in the best people I can find. Polaris is a good ship. She's special. So far, our missions have been successful.
Brock Dantara: We made first contact with a new civilations just beginning to utilize warp drive. In doing so we have found not only some new friends, but a source of very stable benamite
Brock Dantara: This new world can help the future of Starfleet and the Federation. Now we have a source of stable benamite for QSD equipped ships.
Shian Taris: ::she nodded, as she picked at a few other pieces of food:: Sounds like you've been doing a great job. A stable source of benamite? I'm impressed.
Brock Dantara: I was surprised. A very enlightened peaceful species. Their proximity to the Kzin Empire helped their choice to join the Federation. Borg cubes have been seen snooping in that area so it was mutually beneficial for us all.
Brock Dantara: Toward the end of the war, I was assigned to the USS Optimus. The Old Admiral's ship. When our ship was hit, they rescued our life pods. Then we went on to rescue the USS Tahoe's crew.
Brock Dantara: The Impostors had shot down nearly 150 of their life pods in cold blood before we could get the rest of them.
Shian Taris: ::she tried smiling as she ate, listening, but her heart just wasn't in it. She'd missed more than she thought.::
Shian Taris: ::she took a drink of the spring wine and set down the glass. She really didn't feel much like eating any more.::
Shian Taris: ::she looked over at Brock, watching him eat. She still loved him so much. And she hoped that she'd eventually be able to show him that again.::
Brock Dantara: I'm sorry, Baby. I guess I shouldn't have mentioned them. I won't bring it up again. Brock Dantara: I didn't mean to spoil the mood. Shian Taris: It's not that. ::she shook her head a little:: I was just gone for so long. ::she looked down at the floor::
Shian Taris: So much went on, so many people... were killed.
Brock Dantara: So was I, Shian. In a manner of speaking. I don't know exactly what happened to you, and I won't pretend to understand it until you want me to. But you being out of my life...........Part of me was lost as well. Brock Dantara: As I learn about what you went through, you'll learn about my own personal hell. Not that I'm comparing it to what happened to you. Maybe......Maybe we'll heal each other. Shian Taris: ::she looked up into his beautiful eyes:: maybe we will. ::she sighed:: I'm a little tired. Shian Taris: ::she bit her lower lip tentatively:: If I lay down... will you... will you lay with me and just hold me? Please? Brock Dantara: Of course I will. I'd like nothing more. ::He tapped his badge again and the food cart beamed out. Then took her hand to slowly lead her to other room. He was happy that she asked this if him...
Brock Dantara: He had hoped that she wouldn't be afraid of him. Afraid of contact due to what was done to her. Perhaps what they both needed right now was just to be held, and for each to tell the other that everything would be Ok::
Shian Taris: ::this was the personal contact that she hadn't had in months... and that she hadn't allowed herself to even want until now:: Shian Taris: ::but somewhere inside of her, something told her that she needed this. And maybe she could begin to rebuild her confidence again with this foundation block.:: Shian Taris: ::as she layed herself down, she made sure that she kept hold of his hand:: Brock, I want you to know... I can't tell you just yet what I went through. Even though I want to. Shian Taris: I'm afraid. ::she admitted:: But, hopefully, Dr. McCoy will help me not to be so afraid. Shian Taris: ::her head rested on the pillow and she closed her eyes:: I don't want to be afraid anymore. Brock Dantara: I understand, My love. You tell me when it's time to tell me. You're in the best of hands with Bones, So I have no worries in that area. ::He got out of his uniform and slowly got in bed next to her.::
Brock Dantara: I'm here to watch over you. You don't have to be afraid. I know you're going to beat this. You're too much of a fighter. And if you don't feel like you have that kind of faith right now, Brock Dantara: then I have enough for us both. The Gods smile on us, and they shall carry us when we are weary. Brock Dantara: ::Quoted his Ardanan religious writings that always gave him comfort::
Shian Taris: ::she listened to his voice and curled herself up, pulling him to her, almost like pulling over a blanket:: I'm glad you do, because I don't know where my faith is right now... ::she began to drift off into sleep::
Shian Taris: I love you, Brock. I've always loved you.
Brock Dantara: ::Hearing those words brought a tear to his eye as he held himself to her.:: And I love you, Shian. Never again...::he whispered as he, too, drifted to sleep::......Never leave you......

::Shian awoke and opened her eyes. It took her a few seconds to remember where she was. All she could tell at first was that she felt safe and comfortable.::
::Turning slightly she found that her husband was still there with her, his arm wrapped around her waist. She returned to the position she was in when she woke up and just laid there, processing everything she'd experienced yesterday and how she was feeling at this moment.::
::She was going to have her first appointment with Dr. McCoy today and she wanted to be prepared to talk to him. Though, she really did want to talk to Dr. Parvi again before she saw McCoy.::
::It was going to take time to get used to being on a starship again and to meet people and not be instantly afraid to touch them or speak to them. She was still fighting the urge to grab a tricorder and take readings on Brock, just to reassure herself that he's the real thing.::
::She decided she'd just continue to lay there, being held, until he woke up.::

::Brock was getting close to waking up. Often that was when he dreamed the most.::
::Sometimes the dreams were vivid and clear and he knew just where he was. Other times they were a mishmosh of feelings and images and thing he had forced himslef to repress.::
::He was a Line officer now. That's all he knew. He had to put up a show of unfaltering streangth and resolve. Everything else had to wait. The nearly 1000 lives on his ship came first.::
::For now. He was swirling in a liauid maelstrom trying to move. He felt lost and directionless. On the concious level, he felt Shian's body next to his. Trying to believe tha she was finally back. that She was alive.::
::He held her a little tighter and his breath became slightly shallow.::
Don't go....::He Whispered::...Please, Don't go.....Please.....Please....
::He snapped awake, taking a moment o get his bearings, then saw Shian laying next to him. He breathed easier and caressed her shoulder with is chin.::
