Captain's Log: Stardate:61874.7. While we have manged to divert a possible altercation with the Romulan Empire's Tal Shiar, We now face a new problem. There has been some sort of.....Malfunction in the Antican's Transporter, and we belive that the Angelaine Kitona we now have on board, is, in fact, not "Our" Lt Kitona, but has been transported here from the Terran Empire. This has me concerned. We must now find a way to duplicate the incident. Amir thinks we could use the same method that was used by Benjamin Sisko on DS9 when they visited the other side. I am worried. I can only hope that Our Angie is resourceful enough to get herself home. Considering how stubborn and headstrong she can be at times, I believe that she will make it home. I have Amir and Mellisari concentrating their efforts to this end. They are both highly qualified at their jobs and no doubt will have a solution soon.

Captain's Log: Stardate:61901.8 Now I know what Admiral Janeway meant about things like time travel and alternate realities giving her a headache. Khambatti and Mellisari continue to fine tune the transporter to exactly re-create the accident that occurred with Chief engineer Kitona. We have discovered some sort of discrepancy, and this is why we must re create the exact accident as it happened earlier. The "Alternate" Angie seems to trust Dr McCoy. The Dr tells me that upon questioning Angie, she had mentioned an "Empress Sato" as the one who started the Terran Empire back in the late 22nd century. McCoy, who actually visited the Terran Empire in 2268, did access some of their historical records. He found no mention of an Empress Sato in Terran Empire History. This means that somehow a timeline may have been altered, or, it is not the same alternate reality that McCoy visited, nor is it the same alternate reality that was visited by Benjamin Sisko of DS9. I can only hope we get our engineer back.

Personal Log: I've received some very startling news recently in the form of an encrypted personal communication. It is as follows: =/\= Incoming Personal Transmission =/\= Encoded To: Captain Brock Dantara USS Polaris NCC-79590 From: Shian N. Taris Dantara Federation Starbase 173
::Image fades in to reveal Shian, sitting in a stark medical room:: Brock? Where are you? ::She sounds slightly distraught, yet is keeping her composure:: I've been told that this message will be sent to you. I hope they can reach you, whereever you are. ::She pauses, looking around the room nervously:: I've... I've been away. But they found me. They brought me back. I don't know how long I've been here at this base, though. I haven't been very good at keeping track of time lately. Brock... I miss you... ::Image fades out to black:: Part of my heart wants to jump out of my chest, and another part of me is scared. I think I'm afraid of hoping after all this time. Afraid that I'll grow my hopes and it will turn out to be some kind of mistake. I went through emotional hell when she disappeared and I don't want to have to relive any of that any more than I already do. She has never left my dreams. Many a night I have dreamt of her calling out to me for help, and I felt helpless to do anything. Frozen. Right now, I am certain of one thing. When this ordeal is finished, we will head to SB 173 with all due speed. I'm bringing my Wife home

Captain's Log: Stardate: 61940.84. We have left Starbase 173. Most of the Crew is back and it feels good to be back to business as usual again, Except for a few things. We are now on course for sector 812. It is a relatively unexplored area of the edge of the Alpha quadrant. Long range scouts have reported that two non-aligned worlds were engaged in a planetary conflict. Admiral Helm has asked us to investigate the nature and magnitude of this conflict, and, if possible attempt to help them negotiate a peaceful agreement. If we are unable to help in this venture, we will then enlist the aid of the Ambassadorial wing of the UFP.

Personal Log. My Wife is settling in here and beginning to grow accustomed to the surroundings of the ship. I must do everything in my power to facilitate her healing process. Right now, I must put all anger for the Impostors aside and concentrate on having my wife back, and being a good husband to her. I only wish that I could carry the pain and the hurt for her. I cannot. I can only carry her with all the support and love that I can muster. I spoke with my Former Captain, Mark Danrea. He says the Impostors are out there. What's left of them. If this is true, They must be dealt with.

Captain's Log: Stardate:61960.2. We have encountered the first of two races, thus far. The Volanthi. They are in conflict with a neighboring star system and the Kuanna race. The Volanthi have asked us to aid them in their war against the Kuanna. They claim that the Kualla re "Monsters" and have been attempting to wipe them out. Scans of the planet have revealed little or no signs of attack, yet the Volanthi contend that their way of life is in danger. Something doesn't ring quite true to me about this whole situation, and my crew seems to be in agreement. Currently, we are in a holding pattern. The captain of the Volanthi ship has informed us that the "Grand Monarch" wishes to speak to me, and her ship is on the way to us now. I'm curious as to what she has to say. I have also seen some preliminary reports sent to me by the social science team in Mellisari's dept. The Volanthi, like the Kualla, are both warp capable races. Their level of technology is estimated to be roughly 50 years behind Federation science. The Volanthi seem to work on a type of caste system. they are a Monarchy, not a democracy or a Republic. Aesthetic appearance seems to be a very important value in the Volanthi society. Family standing is important, but a great deal of emphasis is placed on how one dresses and his/her stature. At these peoples time of mating, the woman must adorn herself in the proper fashion. She must be ornately dressed and how well she dresses has a high bearing on whether or not a woman is "Chosen" for marriage. Those who are judged to be not dressed well enough or ornately enough for this ceremony are often not chosen. If a woman doesn't get chosen in this ceremony, she then must become a servant, with no chance of marrying again. For the men it is somewhat similar. A man must be of a certain stature, and must attempt to marry the most aesthetically pleasing woman he can. If he is turned down, he can never marry again, and also must be assigned as a servant, or to the working class. It appears to me, that this system is set up to send a majority of the population to the lower working classes, while only a select few have power, wealth, and control. I cannot help but be reminded of my home planet, Ardana. We had our own class distinctions. The Volanthi servant class is not all that much different than what we Troglytes had to endure for centuries. I must rely on my XO to help me stay objective. This literally hits "Close to home". We are here to learn about these people and, if possible help them settle this conflict, not impose our own standards upon them. I must, however be honest with myself. I don't like these people.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 61980.3. Our guests, The Grand Monarch of the Volanthi and her party have arrived. We will show them every possible courtesy while they are our guests. I've had the kitchen staff prepare a small buffet in their honor to give them a taste of some of the different types of foods from around the Federation. Chief Khambatti also has a report for me. I'll have Commander Rivers look into that. It is my intention to attempt to get to the bottom of this conflict and see if we can do anything to facilitate peace.

The Grand Monarch remains aboard Polaris. A ship firm the Kuallan himeworld is currently on its way out to us. Their leader, The "Council Elder" Will be meeting with us. It is my intention to get both of these leaders to sit across the table from one another, and allow each to voice their complaint. Perhaps then, we can get to the truth of the matter. I do not believe that the Grand Monarch has been truthful with us. I now look forward to hearing what this Council Elder has to say about all this. If I cannot stop this conflict, It could mean the ruin of the Kuallan civilization, or at best, they would become homeless wanderers like the Talaxians. The Volanthi want something from the Kualla. I don't think it's this historical artifact the Monarch speaks of.

Captain's Log: Stardate:62015.5. I am about to meet with the Council Elder of the Kualla Republic. He appears to be a very rational and humble man and I have no doubt that this meeting will go on much smoother than the previous. We have also detected some kind of weapon or probe approaching Kualla territory. I wait a complete report from my AT and my Science officer. I must talk to the Elder, and I must get these two leaders to sit across the table from one another. I must find a way to make peace here or one of these races could be eradicated. I think I have an angle to use. It's a long shot, but I will need my engineer's help for this one, I think. I only hope I can appeal to the Grand Monarch's sense of reason and logic. I believe that even she has one.

Captain's Log: Stardate:62036.7. I believe I have managed to talk some sense into the Grand Monarch. Engineer Kitona Was a help. I felt that having her in "Full Regalia" Might be someone the Monarch would relate to, and feel a kinship with. We explained about the Borg. While the danger I pointed out was not as iminent as I mad it out to be, at the same time, I said nothing that wasn't the truth. It was my intention to "Shock" the Monarch into realizing that peace was the answer. She managed to come up with a little shock of their own. She confessed that she had Kuallan blood in her lineage. While feel that this could well be a breakthrough in the peace agreement, I am now concerned that her confessing this to her people may be her demise as their leader. I must now prepare for that contingency. While it is my intention to uphold the Prime Directive, If the Volanthi oust the Monarch and decide to press the attack, The I will have no choice to make a decision. I cannot, and will not stand idly by while a race of gentle, intelligent, peaceful people face genocide simply because their neighbors don't like the way they look. In the words of Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "The claim, 'I was only following orders' has been used to justify too many tragedies in our history. Starfleet does not want officers who will blindly follow orders without analyzing the situation."

Captain's Log: Stardate:62055.8.
We have encountered a bit of a snag in the peace talks with the Volanthi. The Grand Monarch had revealed that she has Kuallan blood in her lineage. The Commander of the Volanthi fleet is now refusing to stand down and is pressing the attack forward.
The Kuallan council elder has pleaded for the survival of his race. I then did the only thing thing left to do. I granted the Kuallan Republic Membership Pro Tem in the Federaton.
This means that I have made a field decision and forged an alliance under my own authority. Now the violation of Prime directive clause no longer binds me. As long as this agreement exists, Attacking kualla is now considered an attack on the Federation.
Admiral Helm has given his support under the circumstances, and is currently on the way here with Ambassador O'Conner to finalize the Kuallan charter, and to further attempt to make peace with the Volanthi.
I intend to solve this without bloodshed, one way or another. Though our ship has the fire power to decimate the Volanthi Fleet, I pray to my Gods that they make the right decision and do not attack.
I have one other "Ace in the hole" Right now. I hope I don't have to play that card.

Captain's Log: Stardate:62076.7. The USS Los Angeles has arrived. Admiral Helm and Ambassador O'Conner are now continuing negotiations for the Volanthi and the Kualla. With the 3 Defiants there as well, I feel I can rest assured that they will proceed smoothly. The Kuallan Republic will be made a full, formal member of the UFP. I think they will make a fine addition to the Federation. Perhaps the Volanthi will someday join us, once they've learned that they are not the center of the universe. We also have a distinguished guest on board. A personal friend and mentor of Commander Rivers. Ambassador Spock of Vulcan. We are currently headed for the Epsilon Antigua sector. Our mission is to attempt to find out what happened to the USS Dominion. The ship was lost back in 2275. She was doing a long range high speed test of the warp drive. Their last transmission indicated that some kind of anomaly had engulfed the ship. She is listed as missing with all hands. We will enter the area she was last seen in, and attempt to extrapolate enough information to determine exactly what happened to the ship, and how she ended up in such a far off sector that long ago. After dealing with the Volanthi, I think perhaps a more "Mundane" mission is in order. It may give us some time to relax. I would also like to report that I am very proud of Lt Kitona, and LtCmdr Mellisarri for their help in this recent situation. They both contributed to acts of great humanitarianism. It is important that officers understand that how we deal with races whose philosophies we don't embrace is every bit as important, perhaps more, than how we deal with races that are more congruent. We cannot allow ourselves to become self-righteous or ethnocentric in our dealings with new races.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 62094.6 I am very concerned. My First Officer has been attacked by a holographic Klingon Beast. As of now, we are unable to exlplain how this happened. Khambatti and Mellisari are as of yet unable to find any type of anomaly. Could something, some unknown force be invading the ship and using the hologrid to attack us? Could we have a spy on board that is somehow hacking into our systems? I don't see how anyone could do that without OPS, CENG, or CSCI picking up on it. Security remains on alert. We keep vigil for another incident. Perhaps when the next one occurs we'll be ready for it, and we'll be able to run a trace to the cause.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 62104.7. Dr McCoy's little Problem seems to be under control. It was a concern of mine since he's an integral part of the ship, and beyond that, he's a friend. I had no intention of allowing this problem to continue. Moving on, We are continuing our mission to the Epsilon Antigua sector. We must now find out what happened to this Dreadnought class Starship. So far, the Science dept has been doing long range scans sweeping for debris, or anything that might give us a clue to what became of that ship. The Dreadnought program ended soon after the loss of the Dominion, and then the Star Empire incident only lent insult to injury. Dreadnoughts were supposed to be the large battleships of the fleet, built to defend our borders. The Starfleet engineers did a little too good of a job on the USS Star Empire. She was even more powerful than the Federation class, and was nearly stolen. Due to this incident, the Federation Council and the Starfleet Admiralty agreed that building such ships could easily be interpreted by the Klingon and Romulan Empires as a signal that the Federation was gearing up for war. The Star Empire was dismantled, and the last remaining Dreadnought, The Dominion's sister ship, USS Koncordia was brought in to be converted to a more conventional heavy cruiser.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 62134.9. We have encountered a most unusual turn of events. While we were attempting to find out what happened to the USS Dominion, we encountered..the Ship itself. How this happened , we are not yet sure. Science and engineering are working on a possible explanation. Dr McCoy assures me that these people are human. He has ruled out the possibility of Impostors. IF anything McCoy felt that they were "Too healthy". He says the last time he saw something like this, was back on Omicron Ceti III, where they rescued colonists when it was discovered that the planet was flooded with Berthold rays. I currently have an engineering team let by Lt Kitona, along with Chief Cash looking over the ship. I plan to go over and have a look at those engines myself. From what I have scanned, the ship appears to be spec, and has the Utopia Planetia signature on the engine construction, along with the correct launch dates. Commander Mellisari is also looking onto the magnetic phenomena taking place in the nearby asteroid belt. We will going for a closer look to take better readings as soon as we've discussed this situation further.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 62153.4. We have the USS Dominion along side of us. We have replenished their deuterium stores, and their engines are once again functioning. This still an unexplained Phenomena. No indication of time travel, or any kind of temporal anomaly. There are unusual readings in the area, But whether or not this had any bearing is still unsure. I am about to meet Captain Hagen in sick bay, along with Chief Cash. he is half Betazoid and his empathic skills seem to sense something in the Dominion's crew. I'm hoping this may give us some of the answers we need. In the meantime, we are preparing to do survey of the nearby asteroid field.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 62172.9 There are many duties that a Starship Captain must perform. Some joyful and some sorrowful. It is with great remorse that I must perform this next duty. To officiate a memorial service for the Captain and Crew of the USS Dominion. Due to an unfortunate series of events, the ship was suspended for over a hundred years. A race of ultimately gentle beings, the Toa gave them their lives back. They, in turn gave that life to us. We are on course back to Starbase 266 where we will take some shoreleave for a day or so. The service will be held in the Arboretum At the beginning of duty shift. You will all be welcome to say a few words on their behalf. The USS Polaris now has its own Website. www.freewebs.com/brock-dantara/ It is still under construction but feel free to take a look.

Captain's Log: Stardate:62192.4
We are currently enroute to Starbase 316 to deliver a final report to the Admiral there concerning the USS Dominion. I [lan to personally request that Starfleet Construct a monument to this ship and crew and display it at the San Francisco HQ Where Cadets can look at it and learn of the story.
I know that many of the crew were affected by this. Myself included.
I addition, I will be requesting a commendation for Lt Shian Taris Dantara, who, while not even on active duty, took measures to save this ship in an emergency situation. She behaved in the manner of a true Officer. I have re-activated her commission and she will now be our Chief flight control officer.
We will also be picking up out new Operations officer, a Lt John Hooper. Taking a little time off, I hope that the crew takes the time to make Mr Hooper feel Welcome on the Polaris.
I only hope thatere will be no surprises this time, but Starfleet teaches to always expect the unexpected.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 62209.5 As a surprise turn of events, An Impostor Starship Has attacked the Planet Angel One. We picked up out new OPS officer at SB 266 and raced to the area. We were able to dispatch the ship without much trouble. I don;t think they were prepared for Polaris' enhanced firepower. The Impostors are a race (If you want to call them that) of beings from some kind of an alternate universe. They had infiltrated Federation space suing their portal system and cloaking technology. By the time we realized that they were here, we discovered over 3000 counterfeit Starships in Federation space. They are called Impostors because thats what they do. They "Become" other people. Occupying those in key positions and infiltrating. These peole cannot be talked to or reasoned with. They have one unilateral purpose. To survive. At all costs. We discovered that theyhad over 20 counterfeit starbases in our space. This was the key to their portaling system. Without the network, They can't use it. My guess is, they are attempting to reconstruct their network. We cannot let this happen. Why they Chose Angel One is uncertain. It is possible that they felt, as a planet of lesser thechonolgy, Angel One would be vulnerable. they may have been trying to exploit the planet for resources, or perhaps even start their operations there, by turning the population into mimics. I am about to meet with my senior staff and discuss courses of action. I also plan to contact Col Chang and see how many ships in the task force will join us. In short, whatever is left of them, and I suspect not many, must be wiped out.
Special note: Flight control officer Shian dantara performed her duties excellently under the circumastances and what she has been through. Reccomenting Commendationfor bravery under fire.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 62229.9. In the wake of two battles with the Impostors, I am currently assembling an attack force to pursue and eliminate the remaining threat. We have been victorious twice. Polaris is finally fulfilling her destiny. She was built to fight this menace and so far, has proven to be their worst nightmare. Another ship, the USS Khitomer, was also built for this purpose. She is a small battlesip but with exceptional armament. She will be joining us. We are on course for Starbase sierra one, along the Romulan neutral zone border. We will meet up With Khitomer, along with 3 defiant class battleships: Relentless, Vigilant, and Cochise. In addition, USS Resolute, a Nova Pathfinder class ship, heavily armed will be joining us Task Foce Phoenix is sending the USS poseidon, Sovreign class. Col Chang-Fei Hung commanding. The Romulans are sending 3 Warbirds. The Impostors represent a great threat to them, and their greatest fear is their Senate and top military leaders being Mimiced. They have offered us full cooperation on this matter. They will be sending 3 Warbirds. ISS Harax, Enem, and T'met. We cannot allow this threat to destroy the peace and trust we have been slowly building with the Romulan Empire. I believe I have assemble an effective force to complete this mission. Our objectives are simple. Attack and destroy all Impostor ships with extreme prejudice. Find the remaining Impostor base and eliminate it. We believe that there attempting to use Angel One to start a new base of operations. Had we not interceded, They would be mimicking the highest governmental figures, and eventually taking over the planet, rich in resources. The USS Mercy has been dispatched to Angel One with relief and emergency aid for the damage done there. **************ATTENTION***************** All bridge personnel are to be wearing gauntlet phasers. The enzymatic gas will be distributed throughout the life support systems. In event that this contingency does not prove effective, Weapons inhibitors will take effect. Security will be armed with ballistic and blade weapons in addition to energy weapons. It is my sincere wish, that, when this is concluded, we may never need to speak their name again.
