BEGIN DUTY LOG
Well, We managed to beam the slipstream drive core off of the Kzin ship and then, I recieved an Engineering equation over my console which told me there was a Federation Agent on board.
I informed the Captain and then ran to the transporter room to handle the beam out personally. I managed to get him aboard just seconds before we pulled the manuever the Captain had come up with.
When I looked at the man who shimmered into view on the transporter platform, I got angry and vowed that, as soon as we got back to Earth, I was going to kill the Admiral in charge of Starfleet Intel.
I escorted him to Sickbay and waited for the XO and the Captain to arrive. That was when I informed them that the Federation agent was, in fact, my husband, Professor Micheal Kitona.

Engineering Log: Stardate:61649.0. Lt JG Khambatti reporting.
First contact with Beta Taranaga was successful. This is a nice planet and the paople we've met so far appear to be open minded and very intelligent. The Captain provided me with a sample of Benamite. These crystals are all over their rings and asteroid belt. This is great news on one hand, but bad on the other. There are not many sources of Benamite known in the A;pha quadrant. It's out there, We just have to find it, and it's fdifficult to scan for. I'm working on a way to reclaibrade the main sensors to make that easier.
As big a source as they have, they are going to attract others once this information is known. Ferengi will try to barter for them. They might even offer the Taranagans technology in return. Technology and wepons they are not yet ready to have. The there are the more agressive races, like the Kzin and others who are going to want those crystals.
The other curious thing about these crystals, is that they appear to be more stable than the ones we've been using. This is going to mean that we'll have an easier time opening the slipstream, and will be able to maintain it much longer than now can. Everything checks out, and I look forward to testing them.
Beta Taranaga has an bundance of these. These crystals could help insure the future of the federation.
Khambatti out.

We finally returned to Starbase after the Beta Torranga incident so that my husband could report to Starfleet Intel and then, GO HOME!!!
I was still angry over the decption but, after talking it over with him, I realized why he took the assignment. His father was Kzin and his mother human so, that made him the perfect choice to infiltrate the Kzin ship and, again, he was right. If he had told me before hand, I never would have let him do it.
I'm sill rather ticked off at Starfleet, however. But, leaving him was another hard thing to do. We seem to do alot of that here lately and it hurts more than people kinow, I love him so very much. I live in fear that, one day, I'll recieve a message telling me of his death during an expedition.
If I try to stop him, though, I would make him less of the man I married so, I live with the fears. He says my job is more dangerous and he fears for me. I don't know how we stay sane but, we do.
Amir was just here about the crystals we found and I agree with him. They seem to be much more stable than dilithium. I'm going to ask the Captain for permission to test them in the chamber and see how well our engine systems handle them and if they live up to their potiential, we could have a whole new power source on our hands.

Begin Duty Log Stardate: 61671.7
After beaming aboard the Republic, we discovered that several refugees had set up housekeeping on the executive decks. I headed down to Engineering.
I knew that once I reached that area, I would be able to flood the decks with sleep gas and then we could move in then peacefully removed whoever had gotten in there.
I share the Captain's views on returning this ship to Mr. Scott as he was my mentor at the Academy and was the main reason I graduated from the Engineering Department.

Engineering Log: Stardate: 61692.1 Chief Specialist Khambatti reporting.
We were successful at calming down the refugees we found aboard the Republic. They did no damage to the ship, ifanything, they were respectful of it.
Dr McCoy and Dr Conner both agree that this is not the same race as the Impostors. I tend to agree, and having been a POW, I saw the Impostors close up.
We will be taking them back to Earth. as we head over to Utopia Panetia, They will be sent to an orientation center, where they will be found a new home. Happy endings are nice.
The problem now, is, What is this other ship doing out there?

Engineering Log: Stardate: 61713.6. Chief specialist Khambatti reporting.
I'm not sure what to make of this, but the USS Hades has launched some type of invasive program into our ship. The program can't get passed the firewalls, but it seems to have our computer in a deadlock.
The control panels and screens are currently inoperative. The Comm system is down.
Now, the Captain of the Hades is threatining to send a boarding party over here and wants the refugees turned over to him.
I know the Captain has a plan in mind. The Polaris has a fail-safe program that prevents an enemy from doing what the Hades is attempting.
I also know that the Captain and the Hades CO had some kind of an altercation a long time ago.
Currently Chief Engineer Kitona is trying to free the systems but her efforts are in vain so far.

Thanks to Admiral Stevens and his amanie plans, I have been reduced in rank to Chief Specialist Grade 4. What I haven't been told is whether or not I am still in charge of Engineering. I still have to figure out what the Captain of the Hades is up to and how to disable the invasive prgram he has implanted in our computer.
As I read back over some old tech journals, I remembered something Mr Scott once told us in class, "The more complicated they make things, the easier it is to gum up the works." Maybe a simple wipe program would do the trick. I'll have to bring that up with the Captain.

Cspec Officer,
My first assignment of the ship Polaris is very imprusive. Very neat and clean run. Headed by a my old captain. The QSD drive is quite a beauty. There are bugs still needs to be worked out. I am compling a new program that will be real effective with any phase varient in the slipstream threshold. I would need to run tests and simulations before any tests will be conducted and I would also need approval of starfleet command and the captain. But i will be working with the engineers and the helm officers for new ideas to improve the response time of the slipstream and it monitoring systems. I am purposing this to the captain when i get info from starfleet command. I am planning on having more information for the Captain by time we get to delta quadrant.

Cspec Officer log:
The new bemamite crystals are very promising. Reguarding the new startup protocols for the new QSD we will need new safety protocols. According to voyages logs on the techology the hull tempature and hull stress are very real for the slipstream. I am working on the new SIF generator for the QSD Drive. Upon activation the new generator will engage giving the deflector dish added stabilty. But we the engineering crew for this encountered that the excisting delfector dish will not be enough to accompy the added output. We ran simulations on the QSD Drive with the new Generator encounter that the deflector dish will burn out in mid flight. I came up with a great plan to add the new SIF with needed output during slipstream. Adding small deflector dish though the ship will increase the sif and the slipstream bubble. Came across the information while reading the voyagers logs. It wasn't intense but i read between the lines. With the borg techology that seven came up with and the species they encountered afterwards helped me revise there plans and efforts.
The new sequence will have the warp 5 speed which is minumal to activate the QSD. The QSD flywheel, QSD SIF Field Generator, and the Special deflectors designed to accompy the SIF Feild generator. Each part must be monitored during flights very carefully. Running tests on the new added systems help the Polaris sustain QSD longer and able to move faster then warp. Untested on the actual ship. The new parts are specially designed to Polaris. Added ruburst relies and power transfer conduicts. And Seperate independent computer specially designed to handle way more calcualtions. Each of the engineering gave me and Cheif ideas for the new computer. Combined with bionerual and other parts with the borg techology seven uses we establish this new core. It has complex calculations to combat the phase varience that will occur.
It controls the QSD, QSD Field Generator, Deflector dishes, and monitors all the hulls stress and tempature throughout the flight. I added a flight data recorder. I got the idea from the 21st century. Airplanes used them while they fly and in case of a major plane crash the box survives. I adapted that techology concept to presence day systems of polaris.
Startup and shutdown protocol
Startup protocols
Engage at warp 5 Bring QSD Drive online Bring QSD Feild generator online Bring QSD Deflector Dishes online. Establish Link with QSD Computer Core. Bring on the New SIF Field.
Prepare for slipstream
Shutdown seq.
Disengage the QSD by Slowing the rate of the Slipstream. Slow the slipstream rate of reaction with the benamite Use phase varience to dispate the slipstream. (Used in voyager to safetly dispece field) Resume normal operations by engaging normal sublight engages. Shutdown the QSD injectors and QSD Flywheel. Review sensor data.

I was able to speak to Mr Scott privately at his birthday celebration and told him what had happened. As usual, he was able to help me see that I couldn't do anything about what had happened so far but, that I could make sure it never happened again. As for the computer program the Hades inserted into our system, I'm still working on that. Hopefully I and my staff can come up with something soon.
As for the benamite crystals, they do look promising as an energy source. Now, if we can just get everything straightened out around here and get back to whatever counts as normal, we'll do all right.

Well, come to find out that the good Admiral Stevens was actually on our side and had infiltrated Section 31. We had a rousing verbal arguement about putting my husband, Micheal, in such extreme danger. On the whole, I would say that we did it rather well.
After everything was said and done, I was given back my commission as Lt Jg and restored to Chief Engineer. Now that that is taken care of, I and my staff are going to run more tests on the benamite crystals and see how many different uses we can put them to.
This is definitely going to be interesting.

Engineering Log: Stardate: 61799.9. Amir Khambatti Reporting.
Everything was pretty routine until we came upon an Antican ship that had been attacked and looted.
All systems are at peak efficiency. We are currently in pursuit of what could be the marauding vessel.
Piracy has been a problem since the war ended. It's still going to take some time to clean this up.

Boarded the crippled Antican ship and was able, with the help of my team, to repair most of the damage. Once they were done, I had them beam back to the Polaris while I began running a final diagnostic on their systems.
So far, everything looks fine but, I'll be glad to get back to my ship.

Ended up using the Antican's transporter to get back to my ship but.....I'm not on MY ship. This ship is the ISS Polaris of the Terran Empire. I read about this at the Academy, when it happened to the Original USS Enterprise.
I know that if I really act the Princess part and throw my weight around, so to speak, I can, somehow, fit in but, I found myself in the brig for disobeying this Captain Dantara's orders concerning the Anticans.
I may also have some unexpected assistance in this universe but, I have no clue, yet, on how to recreate how I got here but I'd better find out, and soon.

Log Entry LT Angelaine Kitona Chief Engineer ISS Polaris Terran Empire
I did my job on board that stinking Antican freighter and now, I find myself in another universe?? How in the freakin' hell did THAT happen? Then, I recognize someone who should be dead and yet, he isn't.
I recognized the Doctor from the first group who had accidently crossed into our universe all of those decades ago. Now, ironically, he may be my best chance of getting back home.
I hate this, this...peace loving universe. I want out of here as soon as possible!!!!!!

Something is terribly wrong. When I mentioned the Empress Sato, I got a blank look for Dr. McCoy. It seems that thr records he has access to do not mention her but, She killed the Captain of the First Enterprise, Captain Archer, after they had found a starship called the Defiant. She took over the ship and used it to set herself up as Empress and begin the Terran Empire.
The Vulcans rebelled about two years later and were almost wiped out completely except for a small group that sided with The Empress, thus sparing their race. I don't understand what is happening but, I want to go home, back to what I know.
I hope that this crew can help me, I really do.

Well, somehow, I made it home! The crew of the ISS Polaris were just as anxious to get 'their' Engineer Kitona back as I was to go home so, we recreated the conditions of her beam over and the next thing I knew, I was looking at the most beautiful sight in the universe, Dr. McCoy!! When I saw that curmudgeonly EMH, I knew I was in the right place. I was so happy, I hugged him! I think I surprised him, too. Now, I need to write a report about what happened in the pararell universe. That's not going to be all that easy. There were a lot of personal quirks I saw that reminded me of some of my shipmates here in the Federation universe and, I don't want to upset anyone. Of course, 'their' Captain is nothing like ours. Our Captain is a fair minded, honest man who rewards hard work and doesn't tolerate slackers. The 'other' Captain Dantara, however, Let's just say that he reminds me strongly of the worst of the old Earth pirates, the one called "BlackBeard". The ISS Mellisari is good at her job but, she doesn't have the personality and drive of ours. She seeks 'protection' from different male members of the crew and as long as she has a 'protector' she does her job. I just cannot imagine our Mel being like that, not in a million years. The CSEC on the ISS Polaris likes her job, shall we say, just a little too well? I had the misfortune of watching her use the Agonizer booth on a young Ensign who had made a miscalculation in his equations and, he's lucky she didn't kill him but, she came close. I will continue this report later as I am very, very tired right now. I didn't rest the entire time I was there and I really need to sleep. Tomorrow, I'll finish this then, write my husband a long, long letter. To Be Continued

I finally finished the second part of my report but, I'll leave it for now. I just recieved a message that a shuttle form Rigel V is meeting the Polaris so that I can, at the request of my beloved Micheal, spend my shore leave with him at the archeological sites he has been excavating for the past three standard months.
It will be so good to see him again and maybe, I can find time to tweak my report about what happened to me in the Terran Empire universe. It was interesting, to say the least but, I need more time to work on the report, to make sure that I have everything correct.
Hopefully, talking it over with Micheal will help me make sure that when I return to the Polaris, I'll be able to return to duty. In the meantime, thanks to Starfleet and my Captain, I'll be able to reconnect with my beloved husband.

Well, thanks to what the Captain came up with, it looks like the situation with the Volanthi has calmed down. The weapon has been shut down and we discovered a very interesting fact, that the Volanthi Grand Monarch is actually part Kuella!
Captain Dantara had me play the Crown Princess act to the hilt. If he only knew how much I really hate having to throw my weight around like that. That's one of the reasons I joined Starfleet in the first place! I knew I could leave that all behind, unless I absolutely had to.
It achieved it's purpose, however so, now I can go back to being just Lt Kitona, Chief Engineer. I like that title almost as much as the title of Mrs. Micheal Kitona.
Which reminds me, I have to contact Micheal soon and talk to Dr McCoy and the Captain. Seems that mine and Micheal's last shore leave together was even better that I could have imagined.
I"M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personal Log
I'm so excited about being pregnant! Micheal and I had talked about having children and now, to know that this dream is finally coming true. I'll need to schedule a series of appointments with Dr. McCoy so that we can make sure I have a healthy baby.
I think I'll call Micheal and watch his face as I tell him. This child will be one quarter Kzin so, I do expect some features to be like Micheal's but, we'll have to wait and see on that.
I'll also need to speak with the Captain. As Cheif Engineer, I have my duites but, as this pregnancy progresses, there are some duties that I will have to turn over to others in my crew, especially the more dangerous ones.
There won't be anymore crawling around in the Jefferies Tubes after about threre months and no where near the radiation sources. Lovely, I DO NOT need to stop working completely!
I'll have to work out something with my a$$istant Engineer after I see Dr. McCoy and Captain Dantara. First, however, I need to contact Micheal.
