In Additon to the common place shuttles that are standard equipment, We have aquired some other ones during our visit to Utopia Planetia.
3 Federation class shuttles
The FEDERATION CLASS Shuttle is an attack shuttle.
It is armed with phasors, torpedoes, extra sheilding, and a powerful impulse reactor that allows for high sub-light speeds.
Able to traverse space, atmospheres or sub-aquatic environments, this versatile snub fighter is a hell of a lot of fun to fly.
It has been jokingly nicknamed 'The Hand Iron' by cadets.
2 Type 9 Shuttles
Normally assigned to smaller ships such the Intrpid class, Thes 4 seat shuttles are warp capable, Quick, and maneuverable. They excellent for surveys and intra-solar exploration.
2 Type 10 Shuttles
Another 2 man small, light shuttle, but a bit nore advanced than the type 15, and more spacious. They are the one shuttle carried by Defiant class ships and have proven very useful in amny situations.
2 Type 11 Shuttles
Now a Standard shuttle on Sovreign and other newer ships, the Type 11 is very versatle, and can also traverse aquatic environments.
3 Danube class Runabouts.
The Danube Class Runabout is a starship in miniature. The vessels consists of three seperate, yet integrated components: the command compartment, mission modules, and the crew compartment. The command area has seating for up to four crewpersons, usually a Conn and Operatoins officer, a Systems Engineer, and Mission Specialist. The Mission Module area consists of four easy swap-out pods, which can be tailored for nearly any mission parameter. And lastly, the crew compartment has four crew bunks and a dining or briefing area. Hundreds of Danube Class Runabouts are used throughout the Federation.
The pit houses the main control stations for the runabout. Physical access to the vessel's computer and sensors is gained by way of floor panels. Main entry hatches are on either side at the rear of the pit. The amidships compartment contains the transporter. A small head with toilet, lavatory and sonic shower is on the starboard side, and a storage compartment for environment suits and other equipment is on the port. The transporter module contains a small beverage replicator for flight personnel. A Jefferies tube along the upper spine of the runabout can be accessed through an overhead hatch. The payload module contains a central corridor and four quarter-load lab modules. The aft crew compartment contains living quarters for extended missions. On either side of the door is a pair of double bunks with privacy curtains. Immediately aft of the bunks are an LCARS terminal to starboard and a food and beverage replicator to port. Aft is a table and chairs. Built into the walls are a number of small equipment lockers. Windows in the side and aft bulkheads provide a view of space. The upper spine contains the warp core and the deuterium/antideuterium tanks. The side pods contain the impulse drives and support the warp nacelles.
2 Warhammer class Runabouts.
The WARHAMMER CLASS is a versatile federation runabout.
These are the Ferrari's of the Runabouts. They are equipped with small a conference/dining area, and even small quarters for resting on long journeys.
It incorporates integral nacelles, much like the DEFIANT CLASS.
The impulse engines have been modified to give extra speed at sublight speeds, so it is highly manouverable and fast in combat.
A unique feature of this vessel is its ability to traverse sub-aquatic environments. Even more unique is the experimental Fusion-Prop (FUPRO) drive located at the rear. This is essentially a propellor-driven form of propulsion, which can be activated if travelling at extreme depths where sub-thrusters become useless. Thus, this craft can go deeper than almost any existing space-faring vessel. When in sub-aquatic mode, 2 stabilizer fins are extended from the front of the ship, giving it superb manouverability underwater as well.
In short, this is an awesome support craft to have stashed in your hanger decks, and at least one WARHAMMER CLASS Runabout is currently being assigned to the hangars of newly produced starships (that are large enough to accomodate them).
Some carriers have whole squadrons of WARHAMMER CLASS runabouts in their bays, as do various space stations and research bases.
This craft is capable of a planetary & sub-aqua landings, and is equipped with Space/AquaSuits for unhospitable atmospheres.
