This is where people can communicate officially with Ambassador O'Connor. She can also call people here to meet about certain matters concerning the Federation. Her expertise is in advising the Federation Console in negotiations with confederacies, alliances and other sovereign unions.

She had made all the mental notes to herself on the way there and now was going to step into the new battle grounds of an office. She walked in and the staff was hard at work already or at least appearing to be. She had no idea who had this office before her but he or she must have ran a tight ship because no one looked up at her when she walked in. That is when she took it upon herself to speak with all the authority of a command officer in her voice and posture.
I dan't know who be running this place before, but you better be teaching each other how to treat a lady right. I'm not that much of a tyrant that ya can't show me around the place.
They all popped up hearing the heavy Sottish accent and some even jaws dropped to the floor. She just gave a friendly look in her eyes and a slight smile on her face to let them know that she wasn't a robot. One finally broke out of the pack and came rushing up to her until he was a few meters away then he came to a short stop standing tall.
I'm sorry madam Ambassador. I wasn't expecting you so early. I would have been at the door if I knew...
Lad, ya need not worry about this lass getting angry at ya for doing your job. Just ta wanted to let you know I be in here and expecting a show around once ya get good and ready.
He respectfully bowed his head.
Yes, madam Ambassador. I was just offering an explanation for my lack of noticing. Would you like me to show you around now, and introduce you to the staff?
She considered for a moment before speaking.
Laddie if the staff be scared stiff as ya are then I be best in my office for a while. Ta give ya a chance to get use to an Ambassador that will talk to ya all like living beings.
She then added after a brief pause.
Ya need not be calling me madam Ambassador. If ya want call me Ambassador O'Connor or Kelly or something other then that formal madam Ambassador greeting while ya be in this office.
He nodded and then wrote something down on the padd.
I think it would be best if I could warn the staff about you...I mean about your preference.
She couldn't help but laugh a little.
Lad you can warn em all you want. Ya can come get me when they be prepared. I can think of a few things to do while ya be making the rounds Petty Officer....
Reece ma'am, Petty Officer Reece. I'll be your aide while you are back on Earth.
Reece it be then laddie.
He smiled and the scampered off. She went to her office to get settled in there. She was sure there would be at least one or two messages on the computer considering how abruptly she ended work yesterday to transport. With that lovely thought in her mind she went into the inner office. The space that was not staff filled that was truly her's to control to prepare for the on slaught of angry politicians and even angrier military officials. Maybe even a few friendly one's she didn't know.

After going over a few things she came out of her office and the young man that greeted her earlyer was right at her side in a flash. She waved him off and then left the office. She had something...or someone to go check up on....unoffically.

Amb Kelly O’Conner: She was in her office doing some paper work after the normal meet and greet of the staff.
Adm Matt Helm : ::Buzzed Kelly on his comm.:: Kelly, you got a few minutes? I need to bring something to your attention.
Amb Kelly O’Conner: She pressed the comm without even thinking about it and stoped what she was doing at the sametime. "Matta I always have a moment ta spare when it comes ta ya.” "What be bothering ya?" She had her full attention on the comm not sure if he would talk over the problem on it or if he would request some sort of a meeting.
Adm Matt Helm : I'll be right over. You may wanna put some irish coffee on. ::He was at the door just moments later::
Amb Kelly O’Conner: "Alrighty Matty I'll be a waiting." She heard the door chime go off and let him in. "Ya must have rabbits feet on ya to hop over that quick.” The smell of coffee was in her office as she had just put on a pot to make.
Adm Matt Helm : That smells wonderful, Kelly. ::He took a seat by her desk.:: By the way, I understand the Chancellor of Beta Taranaga is coming here soon, to formally sign an agreement with the Federation That's wonderful news. Kelly I have a bit of a situation here. I need to grant an ambassadorship to a very good officer, who has good reasons for making this request.
Amb Kelly O’Conner: "Ya never come here with anything short of grand ta pass by me. I take it that the officer made the request with ya as I haven't heard a peep from tha wire all day about a request like that."
Adm Matt Helm : No, he just spoke to me about this whole situation, kelly. Some information was recently recovered out near the Galactic barrier
Amb Kelly O’Conner: She took the now finished coffee off the maker and poored them both a cup of it as she listend ta what Matty had ta say about it. " I take it he be wanting tha Ambassadoralship ta be persuing the ends ta tha information."
Adm Matt Helm : Well, yes. This person in question, is an android. He served on a ship back in 2271 that was supposed to attempt to find out what happened to the Icarus. According to this intel we now have, the ship survived the barrier, but couldn;t get back. They formed a colony out there. Commander HiMaxx wants to first of all, honor his old Captain by completing that mission, and more importantly, The Icarus set out to find another ship, the Valiant. Those people sacrificed a lot to go out there that far, that long ago. The Commander thinks the same sacrifice shold be made to find them. BUt he want to be an Ambassador. To represent the Federation out there. There are more planets than we realize outside the barrier. There could be a whole community of races living out there for all we know. I agree with what he's doing, even if Command may not. So what kind of strings do we have to pull to make this man an Ambassador?
Amb Kelly O’Conner: "I dan't know the first thing about ya're friend but his file. His file says he's a Starfleet Officer with an incredatable amount of service time. He would have ta file a patition with Starfleet Hequarters for a trasfer. Once he transfered over to the Diplomatic Hequarters then from there I can pull the strings as Ambassador ta the Federation Cousole . He would get his assignment and file a report just like the rest of us every so many days on what's been going on and weather or not his presence is still required."
Adm Matt Helm: Can I have my a$$istant take care of his red tape? right now he's going to rebuild the engine room of the ship he wants. We don;t have a ship to give him so He’s modifying an NX class heavy cruiser that's in drydock over the Martian fleetyards.
Amb Kelly O’Conner: "He be really wanting this then." She thought for a little bit, " He already filed the patition with you to break away from Starfleet so all you got ta do is find the papers and pay him a vist to sign them. The training that he would have to go through to make tha trasition can be forgone and he can work on his assignment right away with tha understanding my butt is on the line as well as his."
Adm Matt Helm: That's fine. I'd like to take a look at that ship anyway. But don;t we have to convince the council to sanction this mission?
Amb Kelly O’Conner: She sighed, "Of course, they would da pitched a fit with me if not informed that their NX ship is gonna be on a little feild trip for a while."
Adm Matt Helm : It's not so much the ship. It's not even spaceworthy right now. I'm concerned about them agreeing to let him do this. Technically, it is a rescue of Starfleet personnel. I just hope the bureaucrats don;t get upset about losing a line officer to the Diplomatic corps. Good officers don;t grow on trees. Right now we need all the experienced officers we can get.
Amb Kelly O’Conner: " If they pitch a fit about that everytime it happened they would be off the cousol by now. Its in their nature ta beleive this ta be a first contact stuation as the Starfleet Officers have by now have gone native. If they pitch ta much of a fit they be hearing about it from a very cranky Bolian I know that be more then willing ta come out of reitrement ta tell em where ta shove their political manuvers at."
Adm Matt Helm : ::Laughs:: Sounds like a Bolian to me. I always liked those people. Very happy most of the time. and quite personable. Alright, well, I better get these wheels in motion. I don;t know how long it will take before he has that ship ready. Knowing him, not long. He was literally born at Utopia Planetia and was helping to build ships before either of us were pimples on our Mother's butts.
Amb Kelly O’Conner: "I can beleive that one 'cause he be a metal man. The difference between him and the machiens that help out every day is that he is intelagent and can think on his own. This new endevor of his will be his legacy if he stick it out ta the end. He will have to inform his current assignment of his departcure once the papers are final , and tell the man he be part of tha family now. So get use to blowing smoke up the right people's backend ta get what he wants." She smiled at Matt kind of sly like before breaking out into a full on smile.
Adm Matt Helm: Oh he'll have no trouble with that. Well, I'm gonna get this started. I'll be back in a acouple hours if you wanna grab some lunch.
Amb Kelly O’Conner: "I'll do it and ya better do the same Matty because knowing the Counsol they be going past dinner trying ta figure out the 'logic' in this appointment."
Adm Matt Helm : I'm sure. But this mission was supposed to take place a hundred years ago, only now we have hard evidence of survivors. It's our duty to find and re-embrace our lost colonies. That's what we do in Starfleet. If they have a problem with that, they can deal with me.
Amb Kelly O’Conner: "Politics very rarely meet eye to eye with military but I can see where it would this time. I be trying ta smooth their tail feathers for ya so ya don't have to kick em."
Adm Matt Helm : As only you can, Kelly. See ya in two hours. I hear the lunch special's wonderful today.
Amb Kelly O’Conner: Laughs, "If ya say so. Now go on and scoot."
Adm Matt Helm : ::Gulps down the last of his coffee and heads out.::
