A young Betazoid female with long silver hair slowly walks over to station. She looks at the person the ops station ready to take it over since the ship seems kind of small needed to do her job to keep her mind of the walls. Listen move now! The person got up from the ops station looked at her. Your the day shift you can't do night shift too! She looks back at the person while sitting in her chair. She looks annoyed. You should be happy you get a few hours extra sleep now go. The ops officer leaves. She checks over the systems making sure everything is perfect because if something happened like a fire or if they were under attack as well she wanted to make sure everything was covered and at 100%.

::Brock often walked the ship at night. He found it quiet and tanquilizing In the quiet hallways whe Gamma shift was on duty. Perhaps it was old force of habit when as a Cadet, they had to constantly walk patrol.::
::It may also stem From the last memory he had of his best friend who was killed By an Orion Pirate. Part of a boarding party. Had ben a moment earlier, He might have saved his friend.::
:He knew that deep down inside, He was walking to make sure no one else ever died bcause he couldn't get to them on time. That was his greatest fearas a Starship Captain. His crew being in trouble and him unable to help.::
::He entered the Bridge, looking around and acknowledging the crew. He then was curious seeing Lt Murasaki on duty. He had also recieved a report about the night shift OPS bing relieved.::
Lt. ::Brock asked Amirah.:: You want to explain to me why you are on duty when you're not schduled to be?

She jumps startled having been doing her work. She is terribly frightened to even give him an answer because of her issues which McCoy was going to bring up. This is my post and this is where I belong. She checks various readings, but definately has things on her mind. I get paid for duty not to sleep.

::Brock stood a moment, listenig to what she had to say. He could discepline her for this, but she was the Dept and it was in her right to take extra shifts. He knew perfectly well that there was more gong on here than just a desire to work. He came over and sat by her console.::
Lt. ::He sighed:: When I was the XO of the Guardian, I asked my Captain to give me more duty shifts and more duties in general. he knew why I asked him that. He knew I had a personal matter and that I was trying to keep working so that I could stay just ahead of the feelings I was going through at the time.
::He sat and rubbed his hands a moment.:: Amirah, I learned that you can run from things that are bother ing you only for so long. after a while, we tire, and the feelings overwhelm us. I found for myself that I had to turn and face what was bothering me, and walk through it. And by surrendering to it, I took away it's power.
Now I'm not the Counselor but I know that there's something bothering you. If you want to work extra shifts, that's fine. But there is a right way to go about it. The Ensign you threw off the bridge has a job too, and a right to do it. If you intend to take extra duty, that's your prerogative as a dept head. That means you re-arrange your roster and review it with the First officer. She'll help you with that, just don't go throwing people off their posts.
I want you to bring Ensign Nemo back to finish his shift. You will remain here as the watch officer for this shift. I haven't assigned watch positions for some of the other shifts, so you've got this one for now. I expect a status report at 0400 and another at shift's end. Understood?
::He waited for her to acknowledge before leaving the bridge.::

She sighs wanting to get it off her chest, but this wasn't exactly the place for it. Sir if I told you I doubt you'd understand. You may even question my duties and wonder if I'm even fit for this postion. She taps her badge quickly. Ensign Nemo take your post I'll be talking with the Captain. She sighs heavily not sure where to go or anything. The ensign came back to the bridge to take his post. She gets up letting him have it back. She looks nervous a bit.

I may very well, Understand, Lt. I've come to understand a lot of things over the years. As I said I'm not a counselor. We have a very good one on board who has gotten me through many rough times. Let her do the same for you.
As for now, you have the bridge. I have faith in your abilities to do your job. If anything out of the odinary comes up, contact Comander Rivers Immediately. Have a good shift Lt.
::Brock left the bridge to continue his rounds. He would talk to McCoy or Conner later.::

She sighs a bit. Aye Sir. She looks at Nemo again. Go recheck everything. I don't want to be trapped here if anything goes wrong. Nemo leaves his post again. She takes over wanting the Ops post back on the bridge. Nemo speaks up. Listen you checked and rechecked everything it's still at 100%. She looks over at everything in her console. Good now go check it all again!

((Taking place directly after the sim on August 26, 2008))
Shian Taris: ::Shian waited until a replacement for flight control could take over the post for her, now that the Polaris was out of danger. She was saddened at the loss of the ship, but that was not what was foremost on her mind at the moment. ::She walked over to the assistant security officer, Lt. McCoy and pulled him aside.:: You are going to go to sickbay. Right now. Get a replacement for the bridge station. Let's go. ::Her voice was level, but demanding. And she could tell her pulse was raised::
Lt Ken McCoy: ::Looks at her for a moment, seeing a look all to familiar from his memories of Jax and knowing that, as the Borg would put it, resist was futile and motions a security officer over to take the console::Aye aye ma'am.
Shian Taris: ::She leads him to the turbolift, announcing to the bridge that they were headed to sickbay, she stepped in, waiting for him to join her and let the doors close. The TL waited for instruction and Shian said "Sickbay". But soon after it started moving, she called for it to stop.:: Computer, halt turbolift. ::The computer complied and the TL stopped moving.::
Lt Ken McCoy: ::Looks over at the FC, raising an eyebrow::Is there a problem ma'am?
Shian Taris: ::Shian turned to square herself to Lt. McCoy, her arms crossed:: What in the hell do you think you're doing?
Lt Ken McCoy: ::Returns her look levelly::At the moment, reporting to sickbay as ordered to ma'am.
Shian Taris: ::She wanted to yell in frustration, but she kept it in:: Don't you stand there and tell me that you're going to pull the same stunts that my brother used to pull. The same ones that got him killed.
Lt Ken McCoy: ::Oh, that one stung alright, and his expression showed it as his eyes went as hard and cold as steel::You hve no clue what happened that day, Lieutenant. I was there, and let me tell you, Jax was doing what he felt to be right, and would have done EXACTLY the same thing! ::His voice was starting to rise, and he didn't try to lower it.::We were outnumbered and outgunned, but he REFUSED to leave anyone behind, as a good squadron commander should. His actions saved the lives of 36 individuals, and I will NOT allow you to lower his sacrifice by calling his actions stunts!
Shian Taris: Oh, that's right. That's what he was always doing. Instead of being smart, asking for help, just doing everything on his own. You're right, "Killer". I wasn't there. But I wish I had been. I'd have been the first one to tell him to stop. Being the hero may have been his way, but, see, I heard about all the things he used to do out there. He boasted of them on a regular basis. And even if he was the hero that day, he did it because was trying to prove that he was the best man for the job. ::she was breathing heavily from her frustration and anger::
Lt Ken McCoy: ::That "Killer" REALLY hit a sore spot, especially given the fact that it was Jax that gave him the nickname in the first place, and his fists clench, the flash of pain from the broken wrist lost in the surge of anger that flooded through him::Is that what you think he was doing Lieutenant?Trying to prove himself? ::Laughs mirthlessly::Apparantly, you did not know your brother as well as you think. He was a MARINE, and Marines hold one thing sacred above all else, that NO MAN is left behind.
Shian Taris: ::tears were forming in her eyes as she listened to him. Could that be? Could the Jax that she remembered be that different from who he had become? Was his spirit that had kept her company for all those years just been presenting himself in the best way?:: I lost my brother! MY brother. And my mother and father lost their son. All for being a Marine. ::she looked at him through her tears:: do you know why I made you come down to sickbay? Do you?
Lt Ken McCoy: Computer, resume.::Turns from her, not wanting her to see the pain of his old friend's loss in his eyes::Your brother acted with more honor and courage than anyone I know. He even holds a place in the Hall of Kahless on Qo'Nos in honor of his actions that day, the only human to be so honored. Do not let your loss taint that.::Turns back to face her::You say you lost a brother, well, listen when I tell you, so did I....
Shian Taris: I do NOT want to see you end up the same way. You were close to him. He trusted you. You owe it to him to live. ::she backed up against the TL wall and looked down:: Don't be a martyr. Please. I've had enough. I've been through enough. ::The turbolift doors opened on the deck where sickbay was located. She walked out of the TL and walked right past sickbay and around the corridor, out of sight of him. She had a lot of things to think about now, and Lt. McCoy serving on this ship would serve as her antagonist to start dealing with them.::
Lt Ken McCoy: ::Chuckles, his anger diminishing as the TL doors open::A martyr? Lieutenant, Shian, I broke my wrist, nothing more, and there are those in much greater need of care than I. I fully intended to report to sickbay for treatment, AFTER the workload decreased a bit for the doctors.
Shian Taris: ::She still heard his voice carry down the hall, but she didn't want to hear him now.::
Lt Ken McCoy: ::Sighs as she walks off, then turns to enter sickbay and get his wrist tended to, hoping that eventually she would calm down and allow them to become friends, feeling such to be more than possible, her mannerisms so much like Jax's that it was an almost forgone conclusion to the events of the day::

At ease Mr. Picard. If you are looking for the Captain he's in his quarters at the moment. If you are looking to report in then you do so to me. I'm Commander Christina Rivers first officer.
She sat in her chair as it was customary for her to do when on the bridge. Having just came out of her office.
If you wish we can do this in my office where there aren't so many eyes looking at you woundering what you are doing here when so much as a whisper hasn't been uttered about officer arrivals.
She smiled at him a little. Hard for her to smile at anyone so the attempt at one was one to try and calm the man.
