Star date 67790.1
After a few days of poring over the roster I find myself growing gradually tired of the office. It is beginning to wear on my nerves. I feel like a politician rather then a solider. I guess this is the burden of command. I will never admit to anyone but each day I sit here in silence with myself I find my human side emerging once again. My Mother always use to warn me about command how it would lead to more and more paperwork. Sure enough she was right. I got to meet one of the crew members, the helm's men, he reported into me before heading off to the bride. I just hope his fight doesn't wear with time. So far we are in space dock. I haven't heard from the Commander what our mission is yet. All I am doing right now is assigning Beta and Gamma shifts. Alpha shift pretty much set itself. I'll wait to here from department heads on the schedule see if they agree or want to make adjustments. For now its easy but I got a feeling later on down the road when people are shooting at us it's going to be one heck of hard job.

It has been a while since I have had the opportunity to log my activities so there is allot to record. One is that I have had a discussion with the chief operations officer about his roommate and how that not knowing that he had an animal on board could have been dangerous but all the same it was good of him to come forward with the information before we launched.
Then Doctor Regal Conner, a personal friend, had open heart surgery via our EMH and is doing well now. He is back on duty and I wasn't sure there for a few days if he was going to get cleared. It appears that he is working on some other things now that he has his physical health in order.
That all happened before we launched what happened afterwords was nothing out of the ordinary. At least at first. We were doing the normal ship systems checks and logging into stations for the first time. I do have to say that the crew is effective at doing that all when they were asked.
That was the norm up until a few days ago when the Captain had a meeting with an old friend. That friend now sits on our view screen with all the air of an academy graduate gone wrong. He needs to be put in his place. The professional conduct of the Captain is not that great and that is no exception for his crew. Now the Captain of the Polaris has a chance to put him in his place and the crew is behind him so hopefully we can do that soon, or perhaps something else. I do not know. All I know is that sitting on the bridge for a few duty shifts in a day is not exactly the highlight of the day for me. Especially with so much personal stuff going on while off duty.

Today the Polaris got out of space dock with a full crew on staff. It seams that everyone is jelling good together. It is the first time we have been able to be on rotation as a full crew. It was to say the least exciting and something that will happen frequently but not like this. Not like the first voyage out of dock.
The crew promptly reported in all hands ready and the Captain then received our new orders. It appears that we will be dealing with a relatively violent race who is known for pirating. My only concern is that this true test of metal maybe coming too soon. Considering we have barely gotten out of space dock and these issues are ordered. However, I hold out hope that the cohesiveness displayed today would be displayed strongly in this show of force that Starfleet wants us to do. Or so the impression is that I got from the Admiral that posted these orders to us via comm. link.

Duty Log Stardate 61608.7
Recent duty rotation was completed. The crew seams to be bonding together well and able to adapt to new situations. This situation seams to only make them stronger in that respect. I watched for most of the shift the crew work together to solve the problems that came to us as we went though slipstream for the very first time. It seams that everyone was alright after words and able to take on the challenge of navigating though a possible hostile territory. Since they are known to have had extreme feelings of ill will to the Federation (the people in the region of space we are in now) we are on guard and suspicious of any approaching ship that isn't registering as ours or of the allies the Federation has. I can only hope that we don't have to fight but something tells me that it might not be possible to avoid.

Duty Log Stardate 61619.6
It appears that we had no choice but to further dishonor the Captain of the other vessel after we took his drive from his ship. In the process we retrieved a Federation Intelligence office that had been assigned to infiltrate the race we were forced to confront. He has been admitted to sickbay and cosmetic surgery has been reversed enough to the point that he can be recognized as the person he was born as rather then that race.
That seams not to be the only source of excitement. We witnessed a new member of the galactic community coming into space. They launched their own version of the Zefern Cocren and are now waiting First Contact. That is something this ship will have the privilege of doing that for the Federation. I only hope they are friendly and not as hard to convince we are peaceful as the Klingons were when we first contacted them or the Romulans for that matter. In other words that everything goes well and the crew can feel a since of pride in accomplishing a First Contact mission.

Stardate 61649.4
This duty rotation seams to be quite eventful. We made a successful first contact with a people who just achieved first warp flight. That is in despite of their 'gods' trying to stop that from happening. The crew seams to be getting along nicely and everyone seams to instinctively know when to help each other out when one is having some difficulty. It makes my job essayer in some respects and more difficult in others. The person who flew the ship is now on board and we are in the midst of preparing a banquet for his tasting pleasure. Hopefully this all will foster a new found friendship between the Federation and his people.

First contact was a success now we are on to our next mission. It appears that a legend in his own right Scotty is in need of a birthday present. Well our good Captain has decided we were the ones to get him one. So that is what we are doing. Picking up a ship with a whole lot of value and taking it to Scotty. Simple enough mission until we got to the ship and discovered some people who weren't suppose to be there. It was determined that it was a vessel from the Impostor war. With that being said an away team was assembled under my direction. I am taking with me the tac/sec officer, sci officer, cns, and the vs officer. All of them their talents are needed to determine just how this all is going to play out. Needless to say we assembled and are now on the other ship. Only time will tell who's side the stow aways are on.

Stardate 61677.1
We were able to determine after a few moments on the other ship that we were looking at refugees from the Impostor war. Only this time they came from the other dimension not ours. They had been victims of attacks because of what happened with Star fleet and the other impostors. They were naturally scared of us but are now safely back on the Polaris receiving treatment. I did however authorize the Csec to stay behind on the ship and to check it over if he so chose to take that opportunity. He should be back at his post next rotation. We are currently heading to wards Utopia Plensia at Warp factor 6 with a sensor ghost straight a head of us. The Captain is back on the bridge and now we are ready to take on this new challenge whatever it maybe. I only hope that we are not encountering hostile forces this close to the heart of Star fleet and the Federation.

After being absent for a duty rotation or two I find myself in a rather odd situation sitting on the bridge with main power off line. Luckily the Captain has an ace in the hole for such occasions. I only hope that the Hades now knows that we are not a ship to be messed with. As they are found to be or suspected to be working in cooperation with Section 31. This is not a good sign. That and they are not willing to talk to us. I was left in command while the Captain went down with a few of the bridge officers to determine just how bad they were into this. Apparently they were just the puppets the CO and XO of the Hattie's are on board their ship and will be towed to Earth for trial. Maybe then they will talk to someone and come clean. On a lighter note we prepare for a celebration for Scotty, on of the legions in his field. Special treat for us all before embarking on our next journey.

Stardate: 61720.9
I have had the duty thrust upon me to attend a few meetings this week in regard to crew activities. It seams that as we grow closer as a family things that don't fit right come out into the open rather quickly. Unfortunately we had to demote someone this week as a result, but however, now we have a much bigger challenge a head of us. Needless to say vigilance and dedication to duty will perhaps keep this all from tearing this fine crew apart. I have great hope for the future of this ship because of the Captain's ability to rally people behind him when it is truly needed. We now prepare for a shore leave that promises to be entertaining.
On a side note the SO Lt. Seven McLeod seams to find me rather entertaining. Since being in those meetings with him he has approached me in the corridors of this ship. Rather informally and proceeded to debate the Vulcan traits I have in a rather spirited matter. I find the conversation refreshing and rather timely. My only hope is that this new found friendship with him makes me more approachable and not less approachable.

Stardate 61739.4 - Personal log entry
I do not find myself being very social for many reasons. One of which is that I have no desire to be that way after serving a few tours on an all Vulcan ship. The second reason, that is a bit more personal, is that the last time I attended a 'party' was when they were burying my Mother Admerial Roxanna Rivers. Needless to say the well wishs of the people in that room, though done with good intentions, kind of have put me off to socializing. I find solitude and meditation a more effective use of my time to reflect upon how I can do better. Also, to control the violt sea of emotions that can get the best of me.
I know that sounds cold but it is what I was told while on the Vulcan ship. Sometimes the habbits of old go into the habbits of new. I am not sure how I fit on this ship for there is alot more emotional out breaks and such but I am sure that will come clear to me the more frequently I do my duty within permaitors and deal with the crew on the professional level. Maybe through that I can learn to be human again. I do not, however hold out hope in abandoning the teachings of the Vulcan's fully. For, after all they were my family for a long time. They helpted me heal from my Mother's death and to get back to duty, probally quicker then what would have been anticipated.
With that, it is time for me to meditate, feed my dog and then go meet Conner for a training exserize that I am sure the dogs will enjoy greatly. I do not know if Conner or myself will, for it will never be used, but one can sometimes go outside of logic to hope for things to change.

This rotation was the one in which we started the welcoming process for the marines that will be with the Polaris. They are formally of the Haides but have requested to be on our ship. Even though I am greatful we do not have to put them in the brig and haul them to command I am however not going to not watch them. Their potential is unknown at this time. The breaking in of the troops though I will leave in the capable hands of the resadent marien that was on here before they came. I will be monitoring from father away then hands on. I just hope that they know security is on board and active and are cooperative with them and not confrentational.
On a personal note. I am doing better and am anticipating being back up to speed here shortly on everything that I missed out when I was battling a breif bough of a flu of some sort for a while. Thanks to the exspert hands of Doctor Regal Conner and his concern I was able to get back on my feet quickly.

Duty Log Stardate 61791.8
This duty shift was not normal for me. The crew was very responsive and everyone seamed to work in tangent to bring to light an unexpected situation that we encounter. Seamed that there was a ship in our course path that we weren't aware of. Needless to say the need to explore and seek out new life forms took over. We investigated with not too much happening. They were of course leery of us as we were of them. It took us a good amount of time to determine what was going on with them and what our action would be in response.
That is what happened externally of us. Internally we welcomed back Shellan Herin to full service as security/tactical. Ryan as a result got moved to his specialty flight deck control. The two seamed to work well in tangent with each other and understand that they were colleagues not enemies. It is good to have a crew that interacts so well and without prompting. Makes my job allot essayer. I look forward to reading the reports that come out of the respective departments as a result of this encounter.

We were able to figure out why the Orien ship was around as a Romulan Warbird declocked and made its presence known. We were only deaing with a puppet in the chain of a highly complex thing. It appears that we are not meant to figure out what they were carring and to me it is just a shame that the Orien's were not able to be more forth comming with their information before they were killed by their 'masters'. Now we are dealing with the head of the beast and it doesn't look to good as they are basically declaring war just by being on this side of the Nutral Zone with weapons blazing on us. Apparently they don't care about the treaty that is in place between the Federation and the Romulan people. This concerns me and makes me wounder just how forth comming the Romulans are with their trade with us. Or is this something that is not common for them and they are just roges doing this.

We were stairing down a Romulan war bird for most of the shift. I am supprised that they had the gaul in the first place to even try and shoot at a Federation starship but that is their progative. That is when another warbird decloaked and came out of no were. That warbird however had its weapons trained on the other warbrid that had already killed an Orien trade ship's crew. That is considered an act of war.
The second warbrid then hailed us to let us know that they were on our side and that they were there to escourt the first warbird back. Luckly with the threat of physical retailation they stood down and got escourted out of our space before there was an incadent. More so then the one that was already in occurance. That left us to deal with the orgional issue that we were out here for.

Stardate 61871.6 ISS PolarisWe got the ship we wanted for parts. They seem more than willing to accept our scout under the guise of us being peacefully. They must be really ignorant of what the Terrain Empire really does. Either that or just that stupid; no matter what it be our resident flyer got his parts he needed. Not to mention we got some parts to fix our ship as well to make it better. Trade parts as well which will come in handy were we are going. There is no law saying we can’t pillage in our territory other ships that wander into it.
I have been working with the Captain sometime now and the crew to the most part as been as well. However, there are still some that are not use to his methods. They will adjust or be adjusted. My plan to get close to the Captain has been working wonderfully. We are closer than ever before. It seems he enjoys my presence more and more the more times I complement him on his manners. It seems we work well together even though at times I tend to be a bit softer then he is. But he knows and seams to love that about me. Can’t wait to tell him that his conquest was successful and he’ll be having a son soon enough to pass on his legacy, this ship to.
With the parts now collected and the alien ship demolished we can go back to our duty and our mission better off then what we were when we left space dock. I just hope the Captain’s temper keeps in check so we don’t have to clean the carpet again. Nothing like a blood spot to throw off the whole feel of the ship not to mention color scheme. End LogUSS PolarisWe met up with the alien ship that was in the area. They seem more than willing to accept our CENG as a peace maker to help them with repairs. She was successfully beamed on board and then beamed back. But she wasn’t the same when she came back. She was highly aggressive and adversarial. There seems to be something wrong the Captain threw her in the brig after her cavalier display on the bridge. She needed to be in there especially after coming at us both like she did when all we asked was for a status report. Our CMO and EMH is looking her over. She needs to be evaluated to see if she can continue to serve on this vessel.
What concerns me the most is that she would bluntly attack two superior officers on her vessel. Hopefully the CMO and EMH can get to the bottom of this because we really can’t afford to have to drop off anyone anywhere right now. Her sitting down in the brig for the rest of the mission doesn’t set well with me. But I will yield to the Captain’s judgment he knows what is best for this vessel and this crew. Just like he trusts me to keep the crew in line I trust him to keep this ship in one peace, or close to it.
Conner has informed me I am to be off duty for a while. That the baby is not doing well and that I need to be on bed rest. I am not looking forward to being away from the crew but I also don’t want to lose the baby. Regal and I have worked too hard this far to allow something as trivial as working too hard and too long take him away from us. That and the Captain has made it perfectly clear to me that I am to take care of myself. I just wish it wasn’t at such a bad time. I am sure the crew will be able to survive without me for a while and so will the Captain. He knows where I am at if he needs to talk to me during the bed rest time and he’ll inform the crew once it is prudent to do so. End Log

Personal Log Stardate 61941.7
The events of the past few days have been unexspected at the least. With my not feeling well and unable to focus I have lost track of the last time I have sat down to even think let alone record my thoughts on things. I don't even know if I have been able to keep up with my duty logs. I only hope that the Captain is understanding and will forgive my mental abesences as well as physical ones as I have had to deal with a short lived pregancey and the personal aftermath of that.
I only hope that Regal will be alright after all this since he is the closest thing I have to family and was so closely involved. His moral I know has been droping recently. He has isolated himself from people and really not wanted to talk about things. I think there is something bothering him but he is too proud or perhaps too much into not hurting me to share it. I don't know right now. All I can focus on is a visit from an...old friend.
Chaz has made his home by my feet most days as I am constantly almost non-stop in front of the computer catching up on things that I have missed while I have been...absent. He seams to know I need someone...anyone near me right now just to deal with it all. The emotions, the physical adjustments, and the reminders of what could have been. I plan on taking him out when I can for some play when I am able but for now I am just happy he hasn't seamed to lose a fight in him. I just wish that his optiomisum would rub off on me so I wouldn't feel so...scattered.

The Grand Monarch of a rather superfical race has graced our ship with her presence in a rather weard way. She seams to be picking up on the crews uncomfortableness and trying to make things up as she goes. Something about what she is saying about how the war between her people and the people we are going to be meeting with for the first time shortly doesn't fly well with me.
Mel and Amir have been working on sensor readings and as if to confirm the suspcions the homeworld where the Grand Monarch came from has no damage done to it but the other home world has so much damage to it. There is no question who the agressor is in the battle and who has been trying her hardest to hide it. At the mention of having to talk with the other people she is willing to run away but the Captain won't let her and its about time. These two peoples should learn to get along with each other.
There is something in her eyes that says that she wants nothing to do with the people who don't look like her. Even those amongst our crew that look different then human get strange looks from her staff and her personally. That in itself is telling me that she is making some of her story up about why her people are in conflict with the other race. Only time will tell if she will be respectful or if she will turn out to be a popus lier.

The talks between the two factions is going better then anticipated as they are now talking. However, the looming probe sent by the Grand Monark is still threatening to wipe out the sovern people of the planet that is its target. It is not in my nature to worry but now I can't help but do so as they are not really ones to compromize their beleives unless the Captain can somehow show her the error of her ways before the probe reaches the planet and does what it is designed to do. Terraform the planet wiping out the exsisting habbitants. The Captain has not called us to try and help evacuate the planet as of yet and even if we were called to do so there is no telling how many countless individuals would be lost in the endveor as our transporters only can do so much and we can only house so many people. I just hope that whatever way that it is meant to be ended that we are not caught in the cross fire.
