::Matt looked at Kelly and rolled his eyes.:: Who's idea was it to assign me Tonto and Kimosabe, anyway?::He looked forward quickly.:: Blavitt, quick make this right, it's a shortcut to the bar!::As Blavitt banked the hovercart to turn, Cuddles began to moan again, she was lying back down, trying to scratch her back on the floor of the cart. The motion, combined with the Sehlat's weight made the cart difficult to control.::"Wwwwwwhwhhhhhhooooooaaaaaaa!!!!!" Blavitt yelled.::The cart had banked out of control, and the rear corner smashed into a small statue. The cart careened out of control for a moment. When Blavitt finally began to regain control, they were off course.::Blavitt! Get back onto the pathway!"I'm trying, Sir, The rear gyro is malfunctioning after that hit."::Blavitt continued struggling with the cart, as they went right through a sign that they didn't have time to read. it said:[glow=red,2,300]CADET PROVING GROUNDS AND FIRING RANGE STAY OUT OF THE AREA[/glow]

He would grab the controlls and would fire the thrusters into full rever, as he wuld bank the hover car hard to the left... He was insane and would not mind running the gotlet but he was not sure about all the others..
" Sir the engines of the hover car are going to over heat, and I also belive we may not be aboul to stop in time. Are chances of living.. not sure but it would be fun to run right in there"

The powers ta be much think ya can handle it Matt.
She hung on for dear life as the cart went out of control she wasn't accustom to all the movement because of her career choice and was a bit more reactive then what she would have been normally. Then when the cart stopped and was moving again she had a feeling where they were going was someplace that wasn't on the beaten path.
I dan't know about ya gentlemen but this lass be a bit more inclined ta staying on the path.
She was a bit rattled but still was trying not to pass out like she normally did when faced with a high stress situation. She just held on to the cart frame and let the boys hash it out among ts themselves what was to be done about all this craziness.

Overheating? ::Matt leaned forward.:: Could it be, Oh, I don't know....because we're carrying an animal that weighs half a metric ton?
Blavitt, congratulations, you're the first person in Starfleet history to have a red alert on a golf cart!
PenDragon! Open all the thruster vents! It will dissapate the heat!
Blavitt! Seven degrees right! head for that opening in the hedges, that'll put us back on the path to the bar!
::Matt looked at Kelly:: I wonder if playing Golf with the Dominion is anything like this?
::Just then, Explosions began going on all around them, followed by phaser shots careening past them. The hovercart swayed one direction, then another.::
Good, Blavitt! Evasive! Keep it up!
"What evasive, Sir? I can't even control this thing! What do I do, Admiral? We're being shot at! Why are we being shot at? You don't shoot a person! It's not nice!"
Blavitt, calm down and kep this thing moving! Keep doing what you're doing!
::The cart continued to sway until they came to a slight hill, where it's belly rubbed ground, almost stopping it. Cuddles' weight was making the cart hard to function properly.
Two Cadet leaders rushed over to the cart as it slowed from bellyrubbing the ground,::
"Admiral, Sir" One of the cadets spoke. "I'm sorry, Sir but we have a training exersize going on here!"
Oh yeah? ::Matt repkied:: Well I got a drink going on over there! ::Pointing toward the bar.::
Hit it Blavitt! ::The cart made speed and headed away, out of the artillary range.::

I dan't think they be the golfing type Matta.
She then watched the events unfold before her as they were getting fired at in the range and the cadet come up to them wide eyed and all. She saw how he haneled the young man's concern and couldn't help but laugh a little. Once an Admerial always and Admerial. As if his barking orders at Blavitt wasn't enough of proff of that for her. As they were making their way out of the range she then spoke again.
Matta, ya didn'ta tell me that was part of the plan. Normally you're pritty good about planning out all the fun.
She smiled at him giving him a hard time knowing full well that this wasn't planned and that it might be just a little too much excitement.

::Matt sighed and rolled his eyes.:: The plan was just to have one lousy round of Golf before a meeting! Am I asking too much, Kelly?
Right about now, I think I'd rather ride shotgun against a squad of Jem'Hadar fighters!
::The cart was picking up speed and heading back to the pathway they should have been on. Matt began to relax, but that was short lived.
Cuddles began howling again, and jerking herself back and forth in the rear of the cart trying to scratch her back. The cart began to swivel and fishtail, and once again, Blavitt Was losing control.::
Blavitt! You got to get Cuddles to calm down!
"The only way to do that, is to rub her belly, Admiral. That may put her to sleep. Would you do it?"
No, I will not do it, Blavitt!
::They entered the Golfing range at last, with the hover cart swerving to and fro. Two other carts had to veer off and nearly crashed avoiding them.
Suddenly, the cart swerved near a pillar. The rear end of the cart hit against it, and the hover cart spun out of control, a thick shrubbery at the edge of the Golf course bringing them to a soft stop.::
::Matt pulled off Kelley's seatbelt to make sure she could climb out alright. Blavitt's head Came out of a piece of the bushes they hit.::
"Are we still playing?"
::When Matt turned his head, he looked up to see the grounds keeper standing over him.
His name was Quimby. he had taken over for Boothby when he passed on. He was every bit a meticulous as Boothby and more ornery to boot.
He looked angrily down at Matt, Who looked back up at him smiling innocently.::
Mind if we play through?

She hung onto the hover cart as it when out of control all over the place. She had no idea where it was going to land or how they were going to land either. She braced herself for impact as they were heading right for a big bush that was on the grounds. It took her a while but she relized the hover cart crashed and Matt already had taken her seat belt off so she could get out esay.
After the huver cart crashed into the bush she was a bit out of it but once she gained her bearings she got out of the cart as graceful as she could. She brushed her hair away from her face and walked over to where the two men were standing. She smiled the best she could. She didn't notice the cut on her head.
I dan't know making friends on the corse would be so involved Matta. But next time ya get that incling need ta warn a lady so she can properly prepare herself.
After she was done talking her eyes were dancing with the light that came from within her. The happyness that charmed diplomats from across the galxy.

[glow=red,2,300]********[/glow] ::The three of them were escorted to Admiral Taylor's office. There were several other Admirals, as well as the the Marine Field Marshall.
They Entered, seeing the brass along a long table they were facing in the main conference room. The mood was somewhat somber.::"Admiral Helm." Adm Taylor began, "I was very surprised to recieve this report, and quite frankly, I'm surprised at you. Do you have anything to say before we begin?" He looked at Matt waiting for a respnse.Yes. First of all, Ambassador O'connor had nothing to do with this. She heard we intended to play a round of golf, and decided to come along. She is not responsible for this situation in any way. I claim full responsibilty. "Very well" Adm Taylor began. Now, Matt, I have a report of wanton behavior, disruption of Cadt training drills, destruction of property, some statues, and and a good deal of foliage on academy grounds, along with the grief it has caused our groundskeeper, Mr Quimby, who needed to be tranquilized.
Matt, for God's sake you're one of my best officers on staff. Now would like to explain to me just what the hell got up your afterburner to do something like this?"::Matt glanced at Kelly for a moment before speaking.::

Seeing all the brass there and hearing Amderial Taylor's words she had on her diplomatic face. The one that even the Vulcans didn't mind sitting across from. She stood by Admiral Helm's side. When Matt looked over to her while there was a breif break in the barking she had the look on her that told him with her eyes to give Taylor holy hell for ever draging everyone into this place for no reason. That this was all not planned but an accadent that happened and every person who stood right there before them was just trying to enjoy a day out on the golf corse. That is what her eyes said to Matt when he looked at her and then when they broke eye contact she went back to staring down the other Admirals in the room burning in them that what Matt was speaking was truth and that if they beleived something different they were foolish to do so.

::Matt came from the "never let them see you sweat" school of dealing with people. his years commanding a ship gave him good instncts. He thought for a split second and took an offensive defense.::
Admiral Taylor, ::He began:: It is I who am surprised, and quite frankly, it's not only me who owes an explanation. It's all of you.
Have you all forgotten about the Dominion attack on these very grounds? Are all of you so content and comfortable to believe that this could never happen again?
A golf cart, Gentleman! one lousy errant golfcart and look at the pandemonium it caused all over Headquarters!
We ran through a shooting range and didn't get hit once! Am I supposed to feel safe knowing that the kids being trained to defend the federation can't even hit the broad side of a golf cart?
Consider this a surprise drill on my part. You can all go ahead and whack my peepee for not telling anyone about it.
But did the Dominion send us a warning with a time and a date?
It's time to take a look at all this. Training needs to be evaluated. Considering what happened, the ovaerall performance was deplorable. Not to mention the mainteneance on the golf cart. We were out of control, and if not for this brave man - ::Puts his arm around Blavitt:: The Ambassador and I could have been injured, or worse.
This man's reflexes saved us. Here's the hero of the day, right here.
::Blavitt began to speak::
"But Sir, I really - "
::Matt grabbed Blavitt, covering his mouth for a second.::
Calm down, man. You're alright now. ::He turned back to the Admiralty::
You see what I mean? this man's main concern was keeping the Ambassador and myself safe. He put us in front of his own safety. This is the man to be honored today. Not Cadets, not marines, but a humble clerk.
You can de-bar me, or hang me out to dry, but I looked at conditions on the training field, and they are deplorable. I cannot, in good concience as a Starfleet flag officer, stand by and look the other way.
And if all of you thinks that what happened before can't happen again, than you're kidding yourselves. Because there's always going to be something, or someone else out there, watching.
Now pull your heads out of the sand, all of you!

She folded her arms as Matt went on his rampage of riping the admerals that called them into this place a new air hole to breath in. Giving them the look that meant she was all busness and not joking around at all. Matt was an ellagent speaker and he convayed his message clearly and without so much as batting an eye at their looks of shock and at times distain. She then desided to speak since they did after all call her in on this as a 'co-defendent'.
Gentalmen, I suggest that you make your choice quickly if ya haven't notice I be needing ta get to the Console floor pritty soon here for a meeting. Not to mention if you wish to suspend me you would be making the Vulcan's very upset, and considering I refuse to work with any other Admeral then Helm de-baring him wouldn't be too wise of an idea either. Especailly after the security concernes he just pointed out to you. It would be neglagent to ignore such a blazing warning.

::Matt and Kelly stood solemnly as admiral Taylor began to speak. He had stroked his short beard for a moment as he looked at the other Flag officers.::
"Well," The Admiral began, "This is a most unusual test. And yes, Matt, you should have told me about this, but I can understand the logic behind what you did. Way back when I was a Cadet, my old instructor always said 'expect the unexpected' That certainly seems to apply in this case.
While I don't wholeheartedly agree with your methods, Matt, I have to say that I admire your grit, and your ability to demonstrate your point. The officers who served under you and learned from you, are today among the finest men and women we have.
The damage done to the grounds was minimal, and no one got hurt, thank God. I see no reason to administer punitive measures in this matter. And I can assure you all, that training and conditions are going to improve and change greatly around here."
Admiral Taylor then looked over to Blavitt. "As for you, young man, considering what Admiral Helm has just told us, I think you're wasitng your talents as a Clerk"
He certainly is, Admiral. He's a good man.
"So it would seem, Matt. And that's why I'm sending Mr Blavitt for Marine special OPs training."
Blavitt's face turned pale suddenly. "Speh........speh........speh..."
"That's right, Son" Webster said. "You're going into the Marines!"
"The Muuuuh........the mmmmmmuuuuuh.....Maaahhhh...."
Look at him, admiral, he's speechless! this is like a dream come true for him! And he works wth a trained Sehlat. Kills on command.
"This could be just what we're lookng for in our special forces!" Webster was elated. He called to one of his guards. "Captain Travis, Take Mr Blavitt and get him processed and ready to start training."
The female Marine came in in a march, approaching Blavitt "Let's go, ground pounder! Move out!" She chased Blavitt out of the office, whacking him with the riding crop.

She couldn't help but look at the floor and smile a bit at Blavitt's assignment and his reaction to it. She then looked back up at Admeral Tyler when he was getting escourted out of the room to his new post. She had that look on her face of someone who wasn't feeling anything, but deep down inside she was woundering when they were going to get dismissed to go about their busness.
